It’s K-reppin’ as Stray Kids and BTS’ Jungkook bags daesangs at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards!
The people have spoken and the best of the best has been chosen.
K-pop supergroup STRAY KIDS and Jungkook of BTS were awarded Group/Duo of the Year and Male Artist of the Year during the 2024 People’s Choice Awards at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California February 18, Sunday.
Following four staggering nominations for the award show, Jungkook was nominated for Collaboration Song of the Year for his song SEVEN, featuring rappe, Latto. He was also up for the Pop Artist of the Year and New Artist of the Year awards for his solo music debut. The 26-year-old K-pop sensation was crowned as 2024’s Male Artist of the Year.
An official post from BTS’ X account sent their team’s utmost gratitude to their fans, the ARMYs. “So grateful to be honored ‘THE MALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR’ at this year’s @peopleschoice awards! Thank you so much #BTSARMY for your continuous love and support! You made this possible 💜,” the post reads.

Furthermore, STRAY KIDS secured the spot for the Group/Duo of the Year award. The group also shared on X their love for their STAYS, and their fans for their support. “We’re truly honored to win Group / Duo of the Year at the People’s Choice Awards 2024! 🎉 STAY, thank you for this precious award 💖,” STRAY KIDS wrote.
The group also added a postscript in Hangul saying, [Thanks to Stay, we won the Group/Duo of the Year award! Thank you 💖] “스테이 덕분에 올해의 그룹/듀오 상을 수상했습니다! 감사합니다💖”
The People’s Choice Awards 2024 are now in their 49th year of honoring artists and personalities. This year’s awards night was hosted by Simu Liu, an actor who played one of the Kens in Greta Gergwig’s Barbie movie, which won five awards at the show, including Best Picture.
