Break out of your rainy season blues with Jungle’s new album, Sunshine, an eleven tracks of their signature groovy, electronic sound made a little brighter.

Last August 14, electro-funk trio Jungle released their much-anticipated new album Sunshine, featuring a lead single of the same name. The album takes a turn towards the bright side, introducing a more optimistic sound to the band’s familiar fusion of soul, disco, hiphop, and electronic music.

Bring on the Sunshine

A follow-up to their 2023 breakthrough album Volcano, Sunshine was born from homemade vocal samples, manipulated guitars, reworked demos and organic performances. It is also the first album to feature regular collaborator Lydia Kitto as an official member of Jungle. Kitto’s warm vocals thread through the album, expressing its themes of connection, hope, and acceptance.

For us, Sunshine isn’t about weather or seasons. It’s a feeling. It’s a place you carry around in your mind. Somewhere you imagine when you’re looking towards better days. It represents light, vibration and energy. It doesn’t tell you how to feel, it simply exists.

The video for “Sunshine” continues in Jungle’s well-loved tradition of fully choreographed one-shot music videos. British dancer and actor Will West choreographed several music videos off the album, including “Sunshine,” “The Wave,” and “Move Like You Do.” The latter two songs have earned Radio 1 Hottest Records as well as garnerned widespread international airplay.

A day before Sunshine’s official release, a series of listening parties were held in record stores across the world, including one at our very own Good Vibrations Records in Manila. Fans had the chance to listen to the record in advance, as well take home exclusive keepsakes.

The Jungle’s Musical Journey

Tom McFarland and J Lloyd formed Jungle in London in 2013. The band first gained public recognition with their self-titled debut album in 2014. They then released For Ever in 2018 and Loving in Stereo in 2021. In 2024, regular collaborator Lydia Kitto became an official member.

J Lloyd and longtime creative partner Charlie Di Placido came up with the concept of the one-shot choreography films, which perfectly embodied the inherent exuberance and joy in Jungle’s music.

After witnessing viral success with their song “Back on 74,” which has been certified Platinum in both the UK and the US, Jungle continued to play headline shows across the world including The O2, Coachella, and All Points East. This September, the trio is embarking on their biggest world tour yet, with shows in North America, Europe, the UK, Australia, and Latin America.
