Lost and found

Anthony shares that “Lost in LA” came together in thirty minutes, after a moment of self-reflection in his bedroom. Though it was almost never released, he eventually worked with Nashville producers Parker Matthews and Todd Tran to produce the final version: a moving ballad that is vulnerable, sentimental, and real.

“Lost in LA” captures a journey that goes beyond just the streets of Los Angeles. More than just a song about homesickness, it gets to the root of who Anthony is as an artist – someone who believes in music as a means of connection.

I wanted to show people that it’s okay to feel like that and that it’s normal when pursuing your dreams. I just hope someone out there needs this song just as much as I do.

With his emotional vocals layered with the gentle guitar, Anthony seeks to bring comfort to everyone struggling with the same experience. Of the song’s core message, he says:

Accept the lows and know it’s all part of the process. Use those days to make the small wins feel even sweeter. It’s something I struggle with every day, but writing songs like this makes it easier to cope.

Jordan’s journey

After writing his first song at age 7, Jordan Anthony knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life using music “to help people feel seen, heard, and less alone.” Seven years later, his passion had brought him to The Voice Australia as a Top 4 contestant. Later that year, he represented his country at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, where his performance of his original song “We Will Rise” earned him eighth place.

Expanding past the shores of Perth, Anthony’s big break came in the form of his time on American Idol. He made it to the Top 14, moved to Los Angeles, and released a string of songs, starting with “Cherry,” a collaboration with fellow Idol alum Ajii. “Reckless,” “Tell Me,” and “Hurt Me Sooner” followed soon after, each single showing more of his growth and maturity.

At only 20 years old, Jordan Anthony, with his soulful voice and songwriting chops, is proving he is worth paying attention to.
