Portuguese singer-songwriter J.MYSTERY drops a new single, “Change.” The song is a stirring call to action, encouraging listeners to speak up despite fear and hopelessness and asserting that change is indeed possible.

Bringing about “Change”
Working with longtime collaborator Francisco Reis, what began from a seed of inspiration in his home studio sprouted into what J.MYSTERY calls “one of the most beautiful pieces [he’s] created to date.” The elegance of the string quartet proves this, its glimmering riffs particularly standing out as the song builds to a soulful crescendo. Meanwhile, the arrangements by Nikolai Gimaletdinov and IAN add to its grandiose atmosphere, while the lyrics keep the track grounded and intimate.
“Change” is a song that demands action and accountability from an indifferent world. It delivers a powerful and honest message, as J.MYSTERY directly asks the listener to confront the painful truths of our world as well as our own apathy.

Behind J.MYSTERY
An artist of many influences, J.MYSTERY makes introspective, ethereal music, blending genres like alternative rock, electronic, and atmospheric rock to create his own unique soundscape.
Though not much is known about the enigmatic artist, J.MYSTERY makes his music speak for himself. Alongside features in international publications such as Wonderland and Clash Magazine, he was the final artist to be honored as MTV Push Artist before the channel closed in Portugal in December 2025. Additionally, his song “Reverie” was nominated for Best Music Video in Portugal’s prestigious Premios Play awards.
This year, he will be opening for Father John Misty in two headline shows – Sagres Campo Pequeno in Lisbon on June 1, and Coliseu do Porto AGEAS in Porto on June 2.
