Forget about putting up boundaries—Good Kid knows exactly what we are. The indie rockers are back with a new anthem, “Wall,” reminding us that no matter how high we build our walls, one encounter with your ‘almost’ can still bring us back to zero.
After a two-year hiatus since their last release, “Madeleine,” Good Kid kicked off October 2025 with a bang through their comeback single, “Wall.” The track delivers a bittersweet, high-energy anthem about unexpectedly bumping into the ex who almost became “the one.”
Good Kid is a rising Canadian-based Indie Rock Band with five boy members: Nick Frosst (Lead Vocalist), Jon Kereliuk (Drummer), Michael Kozakov (Bassist), David Wood, and Jacob Tsafatinos (Drummer).
The Band was formed in 2015 when the boys were studying at the University of Toronto while they were taking up computer science and released their first song, “Nomu,” on October 13, 2015.

The Wall We Keep Building and Breaking
The band shares that the song is about putting up walls and pretending to be fine even though a simple encounter at a vintage clothing shop can stir up everything you thought you’d left behind.

And I don’t even care that it’s over
And I don’t even care there’s a wall
And I will never look back for answers
And I won’t ever look back at all
(It’s coming to a close, it’s coming to a close)
This song speaks for every brokenhearted soul, a reminder that not all exes are easy to forget. Some help us move forward and begin anew, but others are the ones who once built us up, only to shatter us in a single fateful encounter. They become the one that got away, and that’s what truly breaks you. It’s the very wall you tried to build that ends up breaking you instead.
For Good Kid, this marks a fresh start as they explore a more explosive sound—leaning into chaotic guitar solos, visceral vocals, and unfiltered, uninhibited production choices that make their comeback feel alive, imperfect, and real.
Aside from that, Good Kid has never strayed from their signature branding through releasing music videos that bring an animatic experience to life. What makes this comeback even more special is that, through a fan contest, one lucky listener was animated into the story and forever immortalized in the Good Kid universe — a dream come true for any fanboy.
As a band we grew up obsessed with animated series and anime…the way they could make you believe in impossible worlds and the people fighting to protect them. ‘Wall’ is our way of capturing the joy, the stakes, and the magic of the anime we grew up on.
