Hilary Duff enters a new pop era with the release of her latest single “Roommates,” signaling her return to music ahead of her upcoming album.

Hilary Duff has released “Roommates,” the second single from her upcoming album luck… or something. The single arrives via Atlantic Records on Friday, February 20. With this release, she continues building momentum toward one of her most anticipated projects to date.

Duff co-wrote “Roommates” with her husband, GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter and producer Matthew Koma, alongside Brian Phillips. Koma and Phillips also co-produced the track, blending Duff’s pop sensibilities with a reflective edge.

According to Duff, “Roommates” captures the feeling of longing for freedom amid the routines of adult life. The song reflects the desire to reconnect with one’s rhythm, relationships, and sense of self. Following the single’s release, a music video directed by Matty Peacock brings the song’s themes to life through striking visuals.

Hilary Duff’s sixth studio album, luck… or something, also includes the lead single “Mature,” which is now available worldwide. The track earned praise from VOGUE for pushing Duff’s sound forward while staying true to her identity. Within its first week, “Mature” surpassed five million global streams, signaling strong anticipation for the album.

Drawing from romantic missteps in her early years, “Mature” presents a sharp yet honest take on growth and self-reflection. Duff pairs bright pop production with wit and vulnerability, creating a song that feels both playful and personal.

A music video directed by Lauren Dunn further amplifies the track’s mood. It has already reached over 3.3 million views, alongside a behind-the-scenes mini-documentary.

Building on this momentum, Duff will celebrate the album’s release with her “Small Rooms, Big Nerves” shows across the UK and US. The intimate dates sold out instantly and mark her first headline performances in more than ten years. As a result, the shows stand as a defining moment in this new phase of her career.
