With its hypnotizing basslines and daring lyrics, “Nausea” captures the grit and belligerence of Scottish music in the best way. According to vocalist and lyricist Tony Collum, the song came to be “during a few bleak winter studio sessions in Glasgow,” though one can just as easily imagine its hazy reverbs blasting on a hot summer night.

The song is a darker one for the group, as it encapsulates both the tension and thrill of a high-pressure situation. Of the track’s lyrical inspirations, Collum says, “Nausea channels spiralling thoughts and the emotions behind the pressures of lineup changes, tumultuous relationships, and restless ambitions.”

Figuring out Flair

Tony Collum, Louis Collum, Jamie Hamilton, Jonnie Wilkie, and Callum McArthur came together to form Flair in 2019. After defining their sound through countless gigs, they released their self-titled debut EP in 2023, with the lead single “Run Away.”

In 2025, the band was shortlisted for Best Live Artist in the Scottish Live Music Awards, which allowed them to gain radio play and praise from publications such as Glasgow Times, The Scotsman, and Belfast Telegraph. Proudly bearing the banner of their Glasgow roots, the city thrums through Flair’s music, fueling their high-voltage performances and solidifying their unmistakable sound.
