The Juans Share Stories Behind TAWID Album

During the press conference of The Juans on September 4 at Trinoma, the media asked several questions about their new album.

The band was asked about the process of track selection, where Carl Guevarra, the group’s lead vocalist and keyboardist, said that selecting the songs was the most challenging part.

They had a hard time choosing which songs would be included in the final 10. But during their rehearsals and recordings, they were able to decide on the tracks. Thus, the story behind the album started with song selection, followed by making sense of the songs.

Carl also said that the selection process shows their maturity as artists because some of their songs didn’t make the cut for the album. This is where the band mentioned that the TAWID album might eventually have a deluxe version—where the excluded songs could be included.

TAWID Album as an Embracing Form From The Juans

In the interview, Carl mentioned that this album isn’t just an album. It exists to embrace their fans and listeners, allowing them to be vulnerable and to be healed.

As they celebrate their 10th anniversary in the industry, Carl said that they’re after purpose, not popularity. They’re not chasing the hype but living out their purpose.

Focusing on that purpose drives the band to always show up and be there for their fans.

TAWID shows how the band is always ready to take a step forward. As artists in this industry, they don’t just want the hype—they want to be remembered for the songs that truly touch hearts.
