Through their debut music video, UNIS shows that they are one of the rising K-pop girl groups everyone should tune in to. The group made their debut with their EP, The 1st Mini Album ‘WE UNIS’, just this past March. The concept of this single embodies an upfront and rebellious vibe. This is a bold yet effective way to start things off.

In the world of K-pop, first impressions definitely last. UNIS certainly made an impression with their debut single.

“Curious” song and music video thoughts

The song starts with that infectious guitar riff, a unique and energetic way to start off. We hope UNIS can adapt a more pop-rock vibe next time. The song’s message is that the girls just want to be with the one they like. No more games, manipulations; let’s just do it.

One lyric in particular sums it up: “Do or die, the old days are over. Lets go, why not?”.

As for the music video, the concept has a setting that will remind you of the live-action Barbie movie. The concept of the music video involves the girls growing tired of their traditional roles and deciding to embrace a more rebellious attitude. We love that the girls have no problem transitioning from innocent to naughty playfully and quickly. They nailed both concepts.

For a first music video, the visuals did not disappoint; they are a feast for the eyes. The contrast between the bright colors and the dark rebel vibe is a welcome addition.

Overall, this is a fantastic single debut for UNIS. We recognize what they can do and will tune in for their next musical project.
