People say nothing lasts forever, but SEVENTEEN’s ready to challenge eternity. To celebrate their 10th anniversary, our diamond boys shine bright with their 5th album, HAPPY BURSTDAY — as a full group.
On May 26, SEVENTEEN officially released their latest full-length album since Face the Sun last 2022. Not only that, but they also celebrated their 10th year since debut on the same day. This ushers in a brand-new era for all members, a significant change they’re embracing without fear.
The album title combines the words “happy birthday” and “burst” to reflect the group’s eruptive rebirth, a bold declaration they intend to follow through. It’s not merely a new beginning for them; it’s their shared promise to live authentically, doing what they want to do with the people they hold dearest. There’s no limit on what they have in store for the future, but their message right now is crystal clear: SEVENTEEN is here to stay.

This is Seventeen: 13 members, 3 units, 1 team
SEVENTEEN is a 13-member group by PLEDIS Entertainment, consisting of S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. They officially debuted on May 26, 2015, with a live showcase, while their first album, 17 Carat, and MV for the title track “Adore U” was released on the 29th.
Their name originates from the sum of their members, sub-units, and team as a whole (13 + 3 + 1). Similar to how other groups have designated roles, each of them also belongs to a fixed subunit: Hip-hop Unit, Performance Unit, and Vocal Unit. Despite all of them being all-rounders, this setup highlights their main skills and how they all come together as one team.
Hailing from a small company, their beginning wasn’t the most ideal for aspiring idols. Having a successful group with as many members as theirs was out of the ordinary. Many questioned their potential and struggled to believe they’d last a year, but SEVENTEEN remained unshakable. Their firm resolve and hard work led them to where they are now: on top of the world and loved beyond doubt.

A Decade into the Diamond Life
Since 2015, SEVENTEEN has worked tirelessly to create unforgettable memories for millions of fans — releasing album after album, performing in countless sold-out shows, and breaking records at every turn. As they continue to set new benchmarks in the music industry, it’s only natural for them to have a grand celebration for their 10th anniversary. And that they did.
Alongside their album promotions, a three-day pop-up event called “SEVENTEEN 10TH ANNIVERSARY B-DAY PARTY” in Seoul was announced. It was a large-scale celebration to commemorate the group’s 10th year and comeback. From May 23 to 25, ahead of the album’s release, CARATs from all over the world came to enjoy the various exhibitions and booths prepared for the event. What made it even more special was the “BURST Stage” held on its last day, where the boys performed an hour-long concert at the Jamsu bridge.
It was, without a doubt, a grand gathering for CARATs, SEVENTEEN’s thank you for their unyielding support and love since the beginning. In the same way, it also served as a testament to SEVENTEEN’s far-reaching impact and sincerity — how their carefully molded craft and genuine selves have resonated with the world and will continue to for a long time.

HAPPY BURSTDAY: Album Release & Tracklist Breakdown
HAPPY BURSTDAY dropped with an explosive bang, breaking the record for the highest first-day sales on Hanteo this year, with 2.27 million copies sold. Not only that, but all the tracks also dominated Melon’s Hot 100 immediately after the album’s release, taking up the top 16 spots. Even in their 10th year, SEVENTEEN never dares to stray from the charts; rather, they’re determined more than ever to make it their forever home.
With 16 tracks, HAPPY BURSTDAY is a giant present eagerly waiting to be unraveled. And for the first time, they featured solo songs, giving all members — including Jeonghan and Wonwoo, who started their mandatory military service — the opportunity to shine individually. This unique choice makes listening to the album feel like an emotional rollercoaster, blasting through diverse styles that contain their personal touch. It’s a satisfying look into their individuality and artistic range, how different yet well-matched they are with one another.
SEVENTEEN’s discography is one in a million, and this new release is another standout addition.
1. HBD
Opening the album with a high-energy anthem, it’s a well-suited start to mark a special milestone. “HBD” is a sure crowd-pleaser, with the members’ carefree vocals and a powerful guitar-led chorus. Its explosive tune complements the song’s overall message — to live like there’s no tomorrow.
2. Thunder
ALO, ALO, T-H-U-N-D-E-R
ALO, ALO, T-H-U-N-D-E-R
It’s here like a thunderbolt
HAPPY BURSTDAY‘s title track doesn’t disappoint with “Thunder.” With its addictive hook and all-consuming rhythm, this song is electrifying. Pair it with the visually striking music video and intense choreography; it becomes the direct equivalent of an adrenaline rush. Despite this being a new side of them, the song’s so uniquely SEVENTEEN that you can immediately tell who it belongs to.
3. Bad Influence (Prod. by Pharrell Williams)
First revealed at the 2025 Louis Vuitton Men’s Fall-Winter show, this Pharrell-produced track was highly anticipated by fans and the general public. The boys’ fresh vocals and the song’s velvety melody leave a strong impression, making “Bad Influence” a replay-worthy track. Only difference from the runway preview is that the official release is a censored version, which is why some of its sections are muted. Nevertheless, this detail doesn’t take away all of the song’s charm with its naturally alluring vibe.
4. Skyfall (The 8 Solo)
Leading the lineup of solo songs, we have The8‘s “Skyfall.” This EDM track showcases his delicate vocals as it seamlessly goes back and forth between a comforting lullaby and a heart-racing dream. Its lyrics reflect a sense of freedom, uplifting those listening to rise again without fear or regret. The8 also incorporates his native tongue by including the Chinese saying, “飞鸟不留下痕迹,” which he mentions expresses the will to fly freely and embrace the future.
5. Fortunate Change (Joshua Solo)
“Fortunate Change” is Joshua‘s solo song, the perfect track to accompany you on spontaneous road trips and early morning walks. It’s fitting for Joshua, whose naturally sweet tone is the best partner for feel-good tunes. The accompanying trumpets bring even more life as they blend naturally with his voice. This song doesn’t scream love but more so confesses it softly with a warm embrace.
6. 99.9% (Wonwoo Solo)
As one of the group’s rappers, Wonwoo‘s solo may seem surprising to casual listeners. But, for CARATs, this melodic track may serve as an endearing reminder of his true self. “99.9%” is a confession-turned-serenade with a refreshing side of jazz. Wonwoo’s tone soothes your ears (and heart) as he expresses his unwavering feelings despite all circumstances — a love that doesn’t ask for anything back.
7. Raindrops (Seungkwan Solo)
“Raindrops” is an emotional rock ballad by Seungkwan, playing well to his strengths as a powerful vocalist. With his sincere vocals, the track makes for a comforting atmosphere while tugging at your heartstrings. It conveys a deep feeling of longing as one reflects on their past, and while it hurts sometimes, there’s still comfort that accompanies it.
8. Damage (Hoshi Solo) ft. Timbaland
Taking a break from ballads and lighthearted solos, we have Hoshi‘s “Damage” featuring renowned producer and rapper Timbaland. It’s an energetic dance track that ideally matches SEVENTEEN’s performance leader. Make sure to have enough room while listening to this song to avoid obstructions while dancing. Trust us, you won’t be able to help yourself.
9. Shake it Off (Mingyu Solo)
Keep that makeshift dance floor spotless because this next track is just as addictive. Mingyu‘s “Shake it Off” is the type of track you hear at rave parties, heart-thumping with a bass that rattles your soul. This is a song that builds confidence, making every path you come across your own personal runway. It shows a new side of Mingyu’s artistry as he fearlessly experiments with a new music style.
10. Happy Virus (DK Solo)
True to its title, DK‘s solo is infectious, but only for good reasons. Out of all the solos in the album, “Happy Virus” may just be the one that fits its owner the most. It’s a healing track that positively resonates with its listeners, elevated even higher as DK repeats the word “smile.” If sunshine were a song, it would sound exactly like this.
11. 운명 / Destiny (Woozi Solo)
“Destiny” differs from most of the songs in the album because of one major detail — Woozi didn’t write or compose it. Instead, their long-time mentor-producer BUMZU and guitarist Park Ki-tae took the helm as a heartfelt gift for Woozi.
Known as SEVENTEEN’s main producer, this is a rare occurrence yet a fitting choice for their anniversary. In a post, BUMZU shares how it was a song made while thinking about Woozi’s heart for the past 10 years. It’s not only a song of thanks, but a nice reminder that the boys are just as loved by their closest friends. Whether it’s their life-long bond or us listening to a precious ballad cradled by Woozi’s voice, it’s destiny.
12. Shining Star (Vernon Solo)
Vernon projects his inner rockstar with his solo “Shining Star.” The track shines even more as he sings over a band-like instrumental with hard-hitting drums and guitar riffs. However, unlike its strong sound, the song’s message is delicately written as Vernon comforts those who face hardships in their everyday lives. Despite it all, they’re still stars.
13. 쌍둥이자리 / Gemini (Jun Solo)
Jun‘s “Gemini” is a dreamy electronic track with an otherworldly vibe. If you close your eyes while listening to this song, you might start to feel like you’re floating. Like how twins represent the zodiac sign, Jun sings about his two selves, searching for a way to know which side is truly him. It’s introspective, highlighting Jun’s sensibility and innermost thoughts.
14. Trigger (Dino Solo)
Bang! “Trigger” brings us back to the past with its 2000s rhythm but with a modern spin courtesy of Dino. The song has an irresistible groove that’ll keep you hooked until the end, and Dino’s trendy vocals are the cherry on top. It shows the youngest’s versatility that matches any style, regardless of the time period.
15. 우연 / Coincidence (Jeonghan Solo)
“Coincidence” is a sentimental ballad about a lost love, intensified by Jeonghan‘s voice and its rich instrumentals. It’s a song that aches after every listen, especially when you miss the one singing. Since Jeonghan was the first to enlist, it was unfortunate that he couldn’t participate in the group tracks and album shoot. However, his solo was a wonderful surprise, filling some of the space left by his absence.
16. Jungle (S.Coups Solo)
Ending the album with a track that screams confidence and pride is SEVENTEEN’s general leader, S.Coups. “Jungle” is a wake-up call that commands attention, sparing no one who hears it. Truly, there’s no better person to praise the group and their milestones than the one who led them towards it. From its animalistic bass to S.Coups’ ruthless flow, HAPPY BURSTDAY concludes with an explosion, as it should.
