MAMAMOO’s Moon Byul is back, and she is exploring different emotions with her 4th EP, laundri.

Moon Byul gives us something to “Think About” with her comeback, laundri. This time, she takes us on her journey of “washing” her emotions and inner self.

1. Cotton

The EP starts off with the R&B track, “Cotton.” And if there is one word that we could describe about the song, it is comfort. It gives a relaxing and chill vibe, almost therapeutic to say the least. Additionally, the title being “Cotton” really feels like the listener is covered with the actual material when they play this.

2. Goodbyes and Sad Eyes

“Goodbyes and Sad Eyes” is the lead single of the EP. Its message is very simple and straight to the point, it’s about moving on. When you read the title, you expect it to be a mellow or a ballad. But in Moon Byul fashion, it is not. The song has a high-energy rock vibe that you cannot help but bop to it. Moon Byul always has that unique charisma and edge to her, and this concept is perfect for her type.

As for its music video, it is such a treat to watch. Moon Byul can pull off the warm, vibrant, and wholesome concept. But, once again, this edgier and rebellious concept fits her so well. The music video further proves our point with it. Lastly, there is a nice metaphor within the video: it starts off with her cleaning up the messy room, and by the end it is clean now. It subtly tells that she is now okay and has moved on.

Moon Byul, more rock songs, please!

3. Da Capo

“Da Capo” goes very well with “Cotton.” They evoke a similar sense of warmth and relaxation. We get Moon Byul rapping here, which is always a treat to listen to. We suggest playing this song when you start your day. Kind of fitting since in Italian the term “da capo” means “from the beginning.”

4. Chocolate Tea

Okay, now this song goes well with “Cotton” and “Da Capo.” Moon Byul continues the relaxed and mellow vibe with this one. “Chocolate Tea” is a soft yet sweet track to listen to, perfect when you just want to sit back and maybe drink a chocolate tea to go with it?

5. DRIP

Now, it is time to kick things up a notch. We mention how “Da Capo” can be a great kick-starter to your day, and “DRIP” is that jolt of motivation you need to go through the whole day. Moon Byul’s edge is infectious on this one. “DRIP” can also be utilized as a workout song when you are at the gym, lifting those weights.

6. Over You

This song may be the most emotionally charged of the entire EP. This song showcases Moon Byul’s vocal range, allowing us to feel the emotion through its delivery. “Over You” tells the struggle and pain of getting over someone, making it harder to heal. In addition, this song may want to make the listener yearn and miss that certain someone. Lastly, “Over You” is a song that fits a K-drama soundtrack.

7. ICY BBY

Moon Byul’s summer song for this year. She showcases her talent and skills here, a blend of bubblegum pop and hip-hop. A concept that she excels at. Of course, we cannot forget about her rapping, which oozes her own swagger and confidence, giving this wholesome and positive song an edge only she can pull off.

For the music video, which generally takes place at a mall. You can see that she is just having fun; it complements well with the vibrant and clean setting that they chose. Lastly, one of Moonbyul’s underrated aspects is her visuals; she gives off a cute yet strong presentation here.

8. Take-off

The last track of the EP, “Take-off,” is a perfect song to end this; it gives off a “see you later” vibe. Moonbyul’s vocals have that sad but happy delivery to this song; it won’t be surprising if somehow you feel a little bit emotional after listening to this. Moon Byul really knows how to end her albums/EPs.

Released on August 20, 2025, overall, laundri is another great EP by Moon Byul. We have said before that she can pull off different concepts and genres, and it further proves our point with this release. The pop-rock genre, particularly in the song “Goodbyes and Sad Eyes,” is a perfect fit for her!
