The Black Label’s latest group shows us a promising start with their 1st EP MY EYES OPEN VVIDE.
MEOVV, one of the latest groups in the K-pop scene graces us with their first EP, MY EYES OPEN VVIDE. Do they have what it takes to their presence known? We think so. The EP has songs that might be one of the top hits for this year.

1. HANDS UP
The first song of the EP, this one is a pre-release last April 28, 2025. The song starts off with a strong yet relaxed vibe, as we listen, we cannot help but tap our feet to the beat of it. The vocals have a strong and thick execution which makes it a stand-out, it’s not the high-pitched ones that we usually hear from girl groups. The whole vibe gives us a sense of urgency to move and….put our hands up.
As for the music video, the concept, visuals, and production are great. The members make their presence known, and we cannot help but just focus on the video and dance while watching it. They are more than capable of pulling off this concept, and the closing moments of the music video, which is a dance break, are a great way to end it.
2. DROP TOP
A potential favorite of the EP, the song starts and ends strong. Although it has a slower pace than the previous, it delivers the message loud and clear. In the world of K-pop you can never go wrong with going simple; this song is a great example of it. It is simple and so effective at the same time. It gets the job done. The vocals are stronger on this song; it gave us goosebumps in some parts. The song and the music video are a great fit whenever we feel like going on an adventure.

3. MEOW
Whenever we feel like hyping ourselves up, this song can help us get that. A perfect track whether you are at the gym or at a party, this one emphasizes ENERGY. The members’ strong and tough vocals compliment the contagious beat so well. “MEOW” is like we got injected with adrenaline and somehow, we want more.

4. BODY
“MEOW” is not enough to energize? Maybe “BODY” will! MEOVV nails this concept of empowerment, motivation, and giving that head start to the listener whenever one of their songs plays. As if listening to the song is not enough, the performance video will make you jump out of your seat and join the group.
5. TOXIC
This next track slows down the vibe. Like the others in this EP, the message of the song is straight to the point. It tells that despite the red flags, all the bad things happening, those are not enough to stop two people who “love” each other. The beat has that chill and relaxing tune to it, it’s almost therapeutic. “TOXIC” is a reminder to us listeners that we still welcome these types of feelings knowing most likely, it will not end good for us.
6. LIT RIGHT NOW
Finishing the EP off with another chill track. “LIT RIGHT NOW” delivers the message that we have moved on from whatever is holding us back. The song screams confidence; it makes the listener “heal” and help them get through obstacles they are facing right now. A comforting and empowering song, it tells us that we will be alright.

Overall, MEOVV’s first EP is one worth tuning into. They have got what it takes to make a mark in the K-pop industry. The vocals, concepts, songs, and themes in this EP prove why. We are confident to say that “DROP TOP” can be one of the hit songs this year. We cannot wait to see what MEOVV has in store for us in the future!
