The main vocalist, Lee Hongki, briefly introduced their seventh full-length album, Serious, via New Sen, saying, “It contains a total of 10 songs. These days, full albums aren’t coming out often, but this album is one that we’ve been filling in with our identity since last year, intending to create a ‘second page.’ It contains a lot of the messages we wanted to convey.”

In response to a question about whether this album differs from the FTISLAND music we know, he stated, “It’s very different.”

“This time, it’s a double title song. We were going to just pre-release it, but there were a lot of different opinions among the members, and those who listened to it said they couldn’t choose, so we decided on a double title song.”

In addition, the members expressed their excitement to finally release a full-length album after such a long time in an interview with Hankyung. Also, they share that they have never done some of their song genres before on the album.

This album features two title tracks, “BURN IT” and “Serious.” The members said that when they asked people for their opinions, the responses were basically equal. Since the members felt the same way, they decided to present double-title songs, as both songs were really good. Moreover, all the members participated in writing and composing all the songs.

FTISLAND Serious Tracklist

    1. Letter to Myself

“Letter to Myself” is a song about something you want to tell yourself. Understanding the lyrics of this song allows you to experience the pain it carries, and listening to it adds to the emotional impact of the melody. “Don’t doubt yourself.” It’s natural to feel helpless at times, but we must have trust in our capacity to overcome those situations and find happiness in the end, even if it takes some time.

    2. BURN IT

“BURN IT” could serve as an opener song for a concert. Listening to this will make you feel intense emotions; it sounds a lot like a revenge track. Their vocal harmonies with the drums and bass give off a mysterious vibe. All the members participated in writing this song.

    3. Serious

This track is so powerful yet so beautiful. Choosing “Serious” as one of the album’s title tracks was a wise choice, as it seemed to capture the essence of the whole album. Also, the band claims that the song’s true meaning is about seeking a new beginning by overcoming things that seem impossible.

    4. AQUA (Korean Ver.)

This song was originally written in Japanese. Since this song has only been performed live, fans have been waiting for its official platform release. “AQUA,” with its amazing beats and music, has always been addictive. The Japanese version is good, but listening to it in Korean feels refreshing.

    5. Sunrise Yellow (Korean Ver.)

“Sunrise Yellow (Korean Ver.)” allows you to feel alive while listening to it because of its upbeat sounds and the vocalists’ lively energy. They released the Japanese version of this song while they’re in the military.

    6. T.I.V (Tears In Vain)

When you hear “Tears In Vain” for the first time, it’s undoubtedly going to make you want to headbang. The song has a captivating instrumental tone and a serene singing voice by member Jae Jin.

    7. INFERNO
With their music, FTISLAND never fails to give you goosebumps. The intriguing opening seems like it belongs in a musical. Hongki’s voice sounds amazing as expected, especially in his high notes, with the hypnotic atmosphere of this track. A total banger!

    8. My Birthday (Korean Ver.)
Another Japanese song that has finally been released in Korean version. You can feel the despair that the song conveys as it expresses the loneliness of the melody and lyrics. The line “I still, I miss you. I still, I love you” really hits hard.
    9. Journey
A must-listen song while driving somewhere. It has a bright and reviving mood with the sound of waves, and it’s reminiscent of motivational music that gives you the power to find yourself.
    10. Reason

“Reason” is definitely the FTISLAND kind of ballad; Hongki’s powerful vocals truly make you feel like you’ve gone through numerous breakups and divorces. The guitar arrangement gives this song more flavor. What a melancholy way to end the album.
