South Korean K-Pop group CIX returns to the music stage with their 8th EP album, GO Chapter 1: GO Together, consisting of four headphone-worthy tracks. This mini album delves into the tangled complexities of sin, salvation, and the essence of love.
Released on September 8, 2025, GO Chapter 1: GO Together arrived just seven months after CIX’s 7th EP album, Thunder Fever. This marks the group’s second comeback of the year, delivering another power-packed set of songs.
CIX, which stands for Complete in X, consists of BX, Seunghun, Hyunsuk, and Yonghee. The group debuted on July 23, 2019, under C9 Entertainment with their first EP, Hello Chapter 1: Hello, Stranger. Since then, they have released multiple EPs and tracks that continue to charm fans.
Alongside the album, CIX also dropped the music video for the title track, “니가 궁금해 (WONDER YOU).” GO Chapter 1: GO Together features four songs, each telling different stories that highlight the group’s artistry and versatility. “S.O.S”

The mini album’s opening track, “S.O.S,” uses an upbeat tempo that disguises a deeper cry for help. Beneath its cool synths and catchy lines lies a story of salvation. As the first track, it perfectly sets the tone for the mini album, anchoring the listener to a never-ending, harrowing journey.
The lyrics echo redemption after spending so much time in darkness. Just like the distress signal “S.O.S,” the song conveys an urgent plea for rescue. It feels like running through a dark tunnel where the exit seems impossible—until a faint light flicker through the crumbling walls.
Hyunsuk’s line in the chorus strikes with raw vulnerability, sounding like a desperate plea for someone to pull him down from a suffocating pedestal.

“Wonder You”
I gotta figure out tonight
You know exactly what I want

“Wonder You” serves as the mini album’s title track—and with its next-level music video paired with killer vocals, it couldn’t be more fitting. The song is an energetic pop anthem that blends a spectrum of instruments, rhythms, and genres.
The track reflects the group’s search for the “wonders” that can serve as band-aids for life’s complexities and struggles. Additionally, it highlights the innate human curiosity about the small things lingering on the horizon. Complementing this theme, the music video seamlessly matches the song’s energy and message.
The boys travel through different universes, mirroring not only their questions about life but also their eagerness to seek answers—from cloud-filled oases to a dazzling asylum resembling the landscape of Olympus. It’s also worth noting how well the CGI delivered (yes, even the abs looked perfect).

“Upstander”
It’s time to change
Be brave
Move, one step at a time
Contrary to CIX’s track “Bystander” from their 2nd mini album HELLO Chapter 2: Hello, Strange Place, “Upstander” tells the opposite story. While “Bystander” emphasizes ignoring other people’s struggles and simply standing by, “Upstander” highlights the importance of stepping forward. The song conveys a message of relying on and leaning toward others, creating bonds, and valuing support systems—a network of people you can always turn to.
Personally, this track resonates deeply with me. Unlike the first two songs of the mini album, which are filled with curiosity and wonder, this one pushes for action. Moreover, it encourages you to do something—to move. In this ever-revolving cosmos, you can’t just remain stagnant. Being nonchalant leads nowhere; the song urges you to take a step and make change happen.

“In My Dreams”
Reborn anew within your touch, one by one
Ecstatic, your lips softly descend
Enveloping me as if healing
Again, you make me overcome
“In My Dreams” closes the mini album with a mid-tempo ballad that captures the eternal search within the universe’s magical maze. The track is conveyed in a surreal, dreamlike style, expressing a deep yearning for a perfect world—a call for redemption far removed from the sins that cloud the cosmos.
The song’s dreamy expression fulfills my expectations for the mini album, harmonizing beautifully with the first three tracks. In addition, it doesn’t just end with haunting lyrics but offers a resolution—one of healing and overcoming. The world often overwhelms us with endless challenges and demands, constantly asking us to give more.
But in our dreams, there will always be a safe place—a sanctuary where healing resides. And with the people we value beside us, we can overcome the world that asks us to be more.

My Final Verdict on CIX’s New Mini Album
CIX solidifies their standing in the K-pop scene with this new release, offering not just songs for fans to enjoy but messages that reach beyond the universe. The storyline, concept, and overall execution of the mini album were well-thought-out and beautifully crafted.
Personally, my favorite track from this mini album is “Upstander,” though the way “In My Dreams” was woven makes it a strong contender for me as well. Still, one thing is certain: every song is worth listening to.
Additionally, this isn’t just an album with tracks to dance to or play casually in the car. It’s one that makes you reflect on the ideologies of the universe—its flaws, its unfairness, and its sinful acts. Yet despite the world’s chaos, there will always be ways to find salvation and redemption.
