Jaehan, Xen, Yechan, and Jehyun of OX:N open up about creative freedom, emotional storytelling, and how their debut EP marks a new chapter—without losing sight of the past.

OX:N, the first official sub-unit of OMEGA X, isn’t just embracing reinvention—they’re redefining it. With their debut EP N, the quartet marks a bold step forward, channeling resilience, creativity, and limitless potential.

In a roundtable interview, Jaehan, Xen, Yechan, and Jehyun reflected on the making of N—their growth, artistic vision, and the process of building a new identity while honoring their roots.

Released on June 20, 2025, N marks the debut of OMEGA X’s first sub-unit, OX:N. The title holds dual meaning: the Roman numeral for four, representing the members, and the mathematical symbol for the unknown—symbolizing creative potential. “There were a lot of challenges,” Yechan shared, “but our love for what we do kept us going.”

Unlike OMEGA X’s high-energy image, OX:N explores a more mature, emotional sound across five tracks—including the stylized “SUIT&TIE,” retro-tinged “YOU,” and heartfelt fan tribute “CAUSE OF YOU.” Xen and Jaehan took lead roles in songwriting and production.

“This debut represents all 11 of us,” said Yechan. “We hope it paves the way for a full return.”

With N, OX:N steps into a spotlight that’s personal, grounded, and full of creative promise.

A darker, refined sound sets OX:N apart

N leans into sonic duality, blending retro, rock, and synth textures with emotional depth. Songs like “SUIT & TIE” and “ORPHEUS” showcase OX:N’s conceptual maturity, setting them apart from OMEGA X’s high-energy image. Xen cited Peaky Blinders as a visual influence, while jokingly likening the group dynamic to the film Extreme Job. “We’ve found a darker, refined vibe that suits us,” he said.

Rather than pinning down a specific film genre to represent themselves, the members described their artistry as rooted in storytelling—exploring themes of mythology, self-love, and emotional conflict.

The EP’s emotional centerpiece, “CAUSE OF YOU,” was composed by Jaehan as both a “confession and a thank-you” to fans. “It came together quickly and happily,” he shared. Xen and Jaehan also led production and lyric writing. “LET ME IN was originally a completely different song,” said Xen. “We reshaped it to reflect who we are now.” Jaehan added, “With four members, there’s no backup—if you don’t do it, no one will.”

Small group, big dreams—and global love

Despite being a smaller unit, OX:N’s reach is global. Fans worldwide, especially in India, have translated lyrics into local languages. “We’ve seen so much love from India online,” said Xen. Jehyun added, “We’re always grateful to hear where our music has reached.”

Much of N was created through casual conversations in studios or van rides. “It often starts with one of us saying, ‘What do you think about this?’” Jaehan said. These spontaneous ideas evolved into fully realized tracks, allowing the group to explore new genres like house and techno.

Performing as a four-member team also shifted their stage approach. “We always think about how to fill the stage and make it whole,” said Yechan. The streamlined setup helped improve rehearsal efficiency while challenging them to grow as performers.

When asked to sum up their identity, Yechan offered: “Feel Good Guys”—a phrase that reflects OX:N’s sincerity, humor, and grounded optimism. Amid evolving trends, the group stays focused on growth, gratitude, and unity.

“OX:N was created with the hope of reuniting all 11 members one day,” Jaehan shared. “Until then, we’ll keep that space alive—with music, connection, and honesty.”

With N, OX:N embraces uncertainty—and transforms it into purpose.
