As My Hero Academia concluded in 2025, the story came to an end not just for its heroes, but for the villains who defined its conflict. The League of Villains stood as dark reflections of the series’ protagonists, with paths shaped by loss, loyalty, and ambition. Here’s how each member of the League of Villains met their fate in the final chapters of the franchise.

My Hero Academia is one of the most popular animes of this decade. With it meeting its end in 2025, we say goodbye to not only its heroes but also its villains. The League of Villains is one of the most iconic ensemble casts of the show, providing parallels and foils for our protagonists. While Midoriya Izuku was on his way to being Japan’s greatest hero, Shigaraki Tomura was being primed for much of the same—though he, of course, was a villain.

The heroes have their happy endings now, the series having reached its eventual conclusion. Are you curious how the League of Villains ended up with the conclusion of this beloved franchise?

Mr. Compress

Mr. Compress ends up in prison for life. After sacrificing himself to make sure the rest of the League of Villains escape, this slippery thief ends up being sent to Tartarus. In the finale, we see him read the book Spinner made about them in his jail cell. After his declaration of having loved being in the League of Villains, this seems like a bittersweet fate.

Twice

Twice meets his end earlier than his comrades. He loses his life before the heroes raid the Gunga Mountain Villa to the #2 Hero, Hawks. Twice is famously very trusting, something that led to Hawks finding out that Shigaraki is currently indisposed. In his fight with Hawks, he wails about how he’s messed up twice now, first with Overhaul and now with Hawks, and tells him to die. He believes that his life was happy, having met people who accepted and loved him within the League of Villains.

In his final moments, he apologizes to Toga and Mr Compress. His death drives Toga Himiko to further her villain arc.

Spinner

Spinner’s loyalty to Shigaraki Tomura led him to accept All For One’s manipulation. At the end of the manga, he also ends up imprisoned. Midoriya Izuku delivers Shigaraki Tomura’s last words to him, and it culminates in the admission that Shigaraki was his hero and that he truly believed in the future he was going to make.

He ends up making a book about the League of Villains.

Toga Himiko

Toga Himiko is one of the most popular villains of the franchise, famously made specifically for Uraraka Ochako. Driven to anger by Twice’s death and Dabi’s influence, she becomes a powerful enemy in the Final War. However, Uraraka’s compassion and understanding move her, especially after she insists that she will give Toga her blood for the rest of her life.

A character who always lives doing what she wants, she chooses to save Uraraka’s life via blood transfusion. She died at seventeen years old.

Dabi

Dabi’s reveal as Todoroki Touya shook the Internet and even managed to trend higher than the US elections. How did this beloved villain end up? After the Final War, he is kept in a tube within Tartarus, too severely burned to move. It is here that he finally bonds and apologizes to Todoroki Shouto, his younger brother.

It is stated that he died somewhere between the end of the Final War and the eight years to the time skip.

Shigaraki Tomura

Shigaraki Tomura finds out his life was arranged from the start in his fight against Midoriya Izuku. At the realization, he decides to go against his master and all that he taught him.

In his final moments, he realizes that he would have always been a villain, not because of All For One’s influence, but because he wants to be a hero to “all the villains.” He sends Midoriya Izuku to deliver his last words of “having fought to the end” to Spinner and tells Midoriya to “do his damn best.” Shigaraki Tomura was twenty-one years old at the time of his passing.
