1. All Your Fault by YUGYEOM ft. Gray
Released last June 17, 2017, GOT7’s Kim Yugyeom dropped his solo album Point Of View: U along with cinematic music from the title track “All Your Fault” ft. Gray, a well-known music producer, and rapper made this his first solo album after leaving their former company JYP Entertainment and joined the hip-hop company AOMG.
“All Your Fault” talks about the ugly truth of unhealthy relationships that is shown in the music video. It serves as a living example of how one person in a relationship cannot accept “no,” which has drastic repercussions.
Kim Yugyeom achieves a clear standout by combining the song’s raw lyrics with an intoxicating electric guitar, groovy R&B production, and a banging rap verse from GRAY. Not to mention the compelling, cinematic music video that is accompanying it, where things go notably dark.
2. Picture by HYO
HYO, who is also known as Hyoyeon of Girls’ Generation, released her latest single last August 22, 2023, with the title “Picture”.
HYO’s ability to push creative boundaries is evident in the creation of “Picture.” The track, which features infectious beats and captivating melodies, takes listeners on a journey through soundscapes that are as diverse as they are enthralling. HYO’s unique approach is not complete without a mesmerizing visual accompaniment that adds a new layer of depth to the experience.
“Picture” is a song that explores the concept of capturing a moment and creating a lasting memory. The lyrics suggest a lively party atmosphere where the singer invites others to join her and take a picture with her.
Relatively, her charismatic performance style complements this song, and she adds a lot of character to a simple track. The song has a dark, mysterious magnetism. Through its distorted loops and looping percussion, a single-minded groove that’s incredibly atmospheric is created.
3. MOVE by Taemin
On October 16, 2017, SHINee’s Taemin released the title track “MOVE” from his second full-length album with the same name, making this his comeback after a year of releasing his first full-length album Press It.
“MOVE” is a sultry pop-R&B track that showcases Taemin’s breathy and soothing vocals. In the song, Taemin sings as he describes the beauty of a person he has fallen in love with. The song itself has a sultry and sexy vibe. It takes a few listens to understand the true essence of the song.
The song was well-known for its distinctive choreography. It became popular after a live performance at Seoul Fashion Week, inspiring covers from fans and celebrities alike. This is often referred to as “Move disease.”
Additionally, Taemin was recognized for his performance by winning the Best Dance Performance Solo award at the 2017 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
