Returning to the Philippines after five years, Jang Kiyong receives warm cheers from his Filipino fans, exchanging witty banters and goofily playing games.
Jang Kiyong shared a beautiful day with his beloved Filipino fans during the Asia Fan Meeting Beautiful Day in Manila on September 28, 2024. Held at the Samsung Hall, the 32-year-old actor was welcomed by a jam-packed audience eager to spend time with him.

As soon as the lights went dimmer, fans roared in excitement. The spotlight wasn’t pointed on center stage but instead on one of the door entrances, and there he was – standing still as he took in the overwhelming love from the crowd. “Manila is the last stop [of the fanmeeting tour], but I still feel the hot welcome,” Kiyong expressed, melting everyone with a beautiful smile. “Seeing everyone makes me want to return again as soon as possible.”
This strong connection between Kiyong and his Filipino fans set the tone for the evening. Despite being the final stop of his tour, it was clear that he wasn’t ready to say goodbye just yet.

Jang Kiyong as an actor
After serenading the crowd with a heartfelt rendition of John Park’s “Thought of You,” Jang Kiyong joined the host, Sam Oh, for a nostalgic chat. Together, they flipped through the pages of his “beautiful diary,” revisiting the cherished memories from his last visit to the Philippines, all the way to the special moments leading up to this unforgettable day.
Specifically, Kiyong had his previous fanmeeting in Manila on November 17, 2019, at the same venue. Then, in 2021, he starred opposite Girl’s Day’s Hyeri on My Roommate is a Gumiho. A year after his groundbreaking role, he enlisted in the military and safely returned in February 2023.
During the fanmeeting, Kiyong shared several heartwarming anecdotes about his life on the set of his dramas The Atypical Family and Now, We Are Breaking Up. A true team player, he revealed that he maintains close relationships with his co-stars and colleagues, regardless of whether they are seniors or juniors in the industry. “I like treating people very well and joking around with them,” Kiyong said, emphasizing the importance of camaraderie. He shared that the positive and friendly atmosphere on set always made shoots more enjoyable and relaxed.
His ability to form lasting connections with those he works with adds to his charm and professionalism, qualities that his fans admire deeply.

Moreover, the second segment had the versatile actor reenact famous scenes from his dramas. Making it even better, he chose three lucky fans to do each scene with him onstage!
For the third segment, Beautiful Wish, Kiyong picked a few fan notes and granted requests. This includes him doing a morning call in Tagalog, five different types of heart gestures, and doing the NCT 127 “Walk” dance challenge.

Jang Kiyong pays serious attention to health
Confidently, Kiyong opened up about his personal hobbies, particularly his love for running. “I like how running makes me sweat. It’s a great exercise and a guide to better health.” This showed another side of himself as someone who values both physical and mental well-being.
He admitted that while he used to run with earphones, he now prefers to experience the natural sounds around him. “I realized that hearing the sounds of nature is better. It gives me healing — hearing crickets and feeling the wind,” Kiyong explained. This quiet, reflective moment resonated with the fans, who got a glimpse into the actor’s more reflective side.

As the fanmeeting drew close, the atmosphere was joyful and bittersweet. Kiyong gave a heartwarming performance of Ahn Seha’s “I Love You” and Jaurim’s “Twenty Five, Twenty One.” The fans’ cheers echoed through the venue as Kiyong sincerely appreciated their love and support. His promise to return to Manila brought excitement and hope, ensuring that this fanmeeting was just the beginning of more. He also asked fans to eagerly anticipate his future endeavors, specifically a drama on the way, sparking a wave of excitement among the fans.
Furthermore, all fans could participate in a Hi-Touch Session, which was granted through a special game, a fun and interactive activity that involved Kiyong and the fans, in the latter part of the fanmeeting.
