Love Untangled’s female lead Shin Eun-soo leaves a lasting impression with her acting as Park Se-ri. Here are seven movies and series that she also took part in if you wish to see her again on-screen.

Shin Eun-soo, the South Korean actress who brings Park Se-ri to life in Love Untangled, is an award-winning actress. She started as an idol trainee and made her acting debut in the 2016 film Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned. Even though this was her first film, she won the Popular Film Star Award at the 2016 The Night of Stars: Korea Top Star Awards.

Twinkling Watermelon (2023)

Son Jung-hyun’s Twinkling Watermelon is a 16-episode K-drama that explores the twisting life of Ha Eun-gyeol, a CODA who travels back in time. There, he meets the teenage versions of his parents. Back then, while Eun-gyeol’s mother was born deaf, his father could hear. Thus, he had to interfere to prevent his father from experiencing the same fate that eventually took his hearing away.

Bringing Yun Chung-ah to life, Shin Eun-soo played the role of a deaf girl with a talent for playing the cello. She was the teenage version of Eun-gyeol’s mother. Chung-ah was quiet and aloof, but when she met her son Eun-gyeol, Ha Yi-chan (the teenage version of her husband), and Choi Se-kyung, her life turned upside down.

Light Shop (2024)

Acting alongside Kingdom’s Ju Ji-hoon, Shin Eun-soo took on the role of Ju Hyeon-ju in Light Shop. The series is a mystery-horror adaptation of the popular webtoon by Kang Full. It follows the story of a group of people who are strangers to one another, yet their traumatic experiences bring them together. These people all find themselves drawn to a Light Shop located at the end of a dark alley.

In the series, Shin Eun-soo plays Hyeon-ju, a high school girl who often goes to the Light Shop at her mother’s request. While visiting the shop and running errands, she begins to experience supernatural and uncanny events. At times, she even sees ghosts or senses a stranger’s presence. Magic School (2017)

Magic School is directed by Kim Do-won. The series is a 16-episode K-drama available on iflix. It narrates the story of four young men whose lives become connected through a magic school. Each of them enters the school with different motivations and aspirations. One wants to find love, while another wants to chase his dreams. The drama is a lighthearted comedy that brings ambition, self-discovery, and friendship to the screen.

Shin Eun-soo took the role of Han Yi-seul, the younger sister of Lee Na-ra. Her role in this series is very similar to her character in Love Untangled. Yi-seul is caring, cheerful, and supportive—unlike her reserved brother. Additionally, Eun-soo’s character serves as the emotional arc of Na-ra as he navigates his dream of becoming a magician while juggling challenges with family and love.

Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned (2016)

Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned was the film where Shin Eun-soo debuted, playing the role of Soo-rin. The movie centers on her character. After the death of her mother, Soo-rin moved to a small town where she met Sung-min and immediately became friends with him. One day, they discovered a mysterious egg in a cave that could stop time.

When time freezes, only Sung-min and Soo-rin are affected. However, when Sung-min disappears, he later reappears as an adult, while Soo-rin remains the same age. Moreover, Shin Eun-soo’s role in this movie became the emotional heart of the story—not only because her character is lonely and sensitive, but also due to the bravery she shows. The film is available for streaming on iQIYI and Viki.

Summer Strike (2022)

In Summer Strike, directed by Lee Yoon-jung, Shin Eun-soo plays the role of Kim Bom. The series is a 12-episode melodrama. It follows the story of Lee Yeo-reum (played by Kim Seol-hyun), a young woman who decides to quit her job and leave the bustling noise of Seoul. She chooses to live a quiet life, far from the city’s chaos. The drama emphasizes self-discovery and healing, delivering a slice-of-life narrative on screen.

Shin Eun-soo’s character, Kim Bom, is portrayed as a strong-willed student who conceals her pain behind a tough facade. She struggles with her family, who often bully her, making it hard for her to fit in. Fortunately, she shares a connection with Yeo-reum and slowly begins to open her heart. Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol (2020)

Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol is directed by Kim Min-kyeong, a romantic-comedy series with 16 episodes available on Netflix. The series highlights the story of Goo Ra-ra, portrayed by Go A-ra, a pianist who was once on top of her life, but after her family’s downfall, her world collapsed. Left with nothing, she decided to move to a small town where she met Sunwoo Joon, played by Lee Jae-wook.

In the series, Shin Eun-soo took a supporting role by portraying Jin Ha-young. Her character is a high school student who’s outspoken, bright, friendly, and energetic. She deeply admires Sunwoo Joon and even openly expresses her feelings toward him. Eun-soo’s portrayal of Ha-young in this series is very similar to Se-ri in Love Untangled, especially in how caring and loyal she is. Her role as Ha-young definitely adds charm and color to the drama.

Bad Papa (2018)

Bad Papa, directed by Jin Chang-gyu, is a 32-episode action drama that follows the life of the Yoo family. Jang Hyuk plays Yoo Ji-cheol, Shin Eun-soo’s character’s father. When Ji-cheol’s career as a boxing champion comes crashing down, he faces a dilemma between morality and money. Struggling with poverty, he embarks on a journey that puts his family in danger.

Shin Eun-soo played the role of Yoo Young-sun, Ji-cheol’s daughter. Her character is a ballet student who dreams of becoming a professional dancer someday. Her relationship with her father becomes strained due to their family’s struggles, yet her role shows the longing of a child for a father’s love. The drama explores themes of morality, family, and sacrifice. Bad Papa is available on Kocowa.
