GOING SEVENTEEN, sometimes shortened to GOSE, is a variety web series starring SEVENTEEN themselves. Curious about its highlights?

GOING SEVENTEEN is a web series available for free viewing on YouTube and WeVerse, now airing on Wednesdays at 9:00 KST. Since its premiere in 2017 (where it began as vlogs and behind-the-scenes content), it’s been giving Carats a peek into the different sides of these idols that fans don’t normally see in award shows and music videos. Now, GOING SEVENTEEN features the members engaging in different activities depending on the concept, from the lighthearted comedy sketches to the more suspenseful murder mysteries.

For such a long-running variety series, of course there will be a multitude of hilarious moments from the show. At their core, SEVENTEEN is a group of guys who are passionate about humor. Are you curious about how far they’ve gone to please the variety gods?

Picheolin Cursing SEVENTEEN Out

If you’re a Carat, you might be familiar with Picheolin, the alter ego of Seventeen DINO. His name is a play on “Featuring.” This lovable (yet unbelievably nosy) old man is somewhat of a common feature in SEVENTEEN contents, basically trademarking the ever-iconic “Eyes of love!” and even going as far as to appear on stage to fill in for Lee Youngji during the 38th Golden Disc Awards’ Fighting stage with BSS.

Though this lovable alter ego’s first appearance was in 2021 on a CARATLAND VCR, Wonwoo’s Diary marks his first appearance in GOING SEVENTEEN. In his sparkling debut in the web series, Picheolin curses out the members.

Dino even created other alter egos like Lee Sooneung and Mr Cha after Picheolin’s success.

The Highs and Lows of Idol Kickball

Want the feel of a sports anime? Want to root for the underdog in a game and watch them win even with all the odds stacked against them? Here’s Mingyu, who, against all odds, is hitting a home run while wearing a dinosaur suit. Good for him!

SEVENTEEN has a couple of GOSEs where they run around and chase a ball, but if you want the extra dose of silliness, the Kickball episode is an excellent choice, as the boys are made to wear dinosaur suits, carry around spare tires, and dance to “Left and Right” while trying to hit all the bases. This is what they should mean when they say, “boys will be boys.”

Heartwarming Heights in GOSE

Though it may look like it, GOSE doesn’t only have gags and skits. They also acknowledge the deep bond that these boys share after a decade of being active together. In Bungee Jump, Seventeen go through a series of games to decide the lucky members who have to (as the episode title says) bungee jump as punishment.

Though Seventeen is known for being absolutely ruthless in games, when Dokyeom gets the penalty, he is encouraged by his members consistently as he tries to gather the courage to jump despite his fear of heights.

No One Here is Normal

“There at least needs to be one normal person here” is a quote from Jun in an episode of Game Caterers. It’s clear that SEVENTEEN’s desire to be funny has led them to places most people wouldn’t go to with a gun; however, they take it one step above in some of these episodes.

In How To Eat Rice The Perfect Way, the group is tasked to think of the best combinations with rice. Simple enough, right? Not if you’re from the group SEVENTEEN. In a stage reminiscent of a fifth-grade talent show, we see them perform skit after skit. After Jeonghan and Dokyeom fight to the death as Rice Rice Hero vs. Hungry Monster, Joshua pours ice water on himself in the middle of winter.

Rigged from the Start

The Don’t Lie series is one of GOSE‘s most popular series, standing right beside Insomnia Zero and TTT. It is the breeding ground for discord among the SEVENTEEN members. The episode format itself is inspired by and designed after the mafia game, with the rules getting increasingly complicated with every new addition.

The most recent betrayal happens in Don’t Lie: The Chaser. It involves an entire line of betrayals, from Dokyeom getting upset at Minghao‘s stubborn declaration that Dokyeom isn’t his person to Dokyeom outing Wonwoo as a mafia for his own sake. Wonwoo then fully gets to his knees and screams, “My grandiose dreams!” at having his role exposed, which leads to raucous laughter from everyone.

Vernon Befriends Pennywise

If you’re in the mood for a scare, GOING SEVENTEEN also has something for you. From zombie specials to escape rooms, you can be sure that every year, the PDs cook up something new and exciting for SEVENTEEN to try with. With thirteen guys possessing completely different horror tolerances, it’s always a fun time to watch.

In Tag, the members are tasked to find the keys and escape after being divided into one group of four, two groups of two, and five members going alone. Later in the episode, we see Vernon fearlessly shaking hands with Pennywise as his three other members run away screaming from the clown.

As an additional incentive, there seems to be an actual ghost sighting in this episode. Whether it is or isn’t real is up for you to decide!

A Bunch of Good-Looking Guys Doing Crazy Things

If you’ve ever seen that clip of a bunch of guys playing drinking games going around on Twitter, it’s likely that it’s a clip of SEVENTEEN. In TTT (Hyperrealism Ver.), SEVENTEEN are gathered around a table and playing several drinking games, all while inebriated. This moment is legendary because of how in-sync they are even in something as mundane as a game.

This episode is full of a frankly concerning amount of silliness and drunken shenanigans, from foot volleyball games with very confusing mechanics to very drunken karaoke sessions.
