Get ready for more chart-topping Chinese music! Universal Music Publishing China signs exclusive global deal with Cheerful Music, a leading hit song producer.

Universal Music Publishing China (UMP China), a subsidiary of Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), has announced an exclusive worldwide publishing agreement with Cheerful Music. The deal is effective outside mainland China.



Cheerful Music, a hitmaker in the Chinese music industry, boasts a catalog of major hits. These include the wildly popular YI XIAO JIANG HU (KE MU SAN), which has garnered over 50 billion views on Douyin (China’s TikTok). Moreover, other notable songs from their catalog include “XIAO CHENG XIA TIAN,” “TA SHAN HE,” and “BAN SHENG XUE,” all of which have topped China’s streaming charts.

Founded in 2019 in Shenzhen, Cheerful Music has rapidly become a powerhouse in the Chinese music industry. They boast a diverse roster of talented Chinese songwriters and artists, including Snow. J, Silk Ye, Cindy Dong, KeyKey, Huang Junze C-Jay, He Zhu, Yu Tang, and Reddi.



Cheerful Music’s London office spearheads their international strategy. This facilitates collaborations with global talents like Erik Frank, Grand Nights, Shell Tenedero, Chloe Rose, J.O.Y., and Milan D’Agostini. Cheerful Music is committed to nurturing emerging local artists and showcasing original music.

YI XIAO JIANG HU (KE MU SAN)’s phenomenal success underscores Cheerful Music’s ability to create hits. This track alone inspired 15 million user-generated videos on Douyin. It has captivated audiences worldwide, influencing social media trends, movie premieres, and international dance competitions.



The impact of YI XIAO JIANG HU (KE MU SAN) even extended to South Korea, topping the YouTube Short Video charts. This further demonstrates Cheerful Music’s effective global reach and the widespread appeal of its music.

Another significant hit, TA SHAN HE, emerged as a standout track in 2020. It was honored as one of the top 10 songs at the 3rd TMEA Tencent Music Entertainment Awards. Additionally, the song amassed over 10 billion views on Douyin.
