2023 vma

The wait is finally over as the highly anticipated VMA 2023 announced its amazing awardees!

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) announced its winners for this year at an extravagant awards night. It happened at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on Tuesday, September 12.

VMAs started with an hour-and-a-half-long pre-show hosted by Saweetie alongside Dometi Pongo, Kevan Kenney, and Nessa. NLE Choppa and Sabrina Carpenter put on the show starter with their stage presence and performances to welcome the crowd to the night’s vibe.

A total of 27 categories were presented for the VMAs. And as the show’s theme for the year also pays tribute in celebration of HipHop’s 50th anniversary, queen of rap Nicki Minaj was chosen to take center stage as the night’s emcee.

The Music Melting Pot

The award show then sheds light on the rap and hip-hop industry; pulling up the rap card, legend Lil Wayne shared the stage with multi-awarded producer Metro Boomin, plus fellow rappers Swae Lee, NAV, Future, and Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.

Cardi B also made the crowd wild as she performed her latest single, “Bongos,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion.

It is a mix of everything in the music scene as the audiences also jived and went loco over Latin music as Karol G, Anitta, and Peso Pluma performed. Hyped-up rock fans enjoyed performances from Fall Out Boy and Maneskin.

Other performances are from pop stars Demi Lovato, Olivia Rodrigo, and Doja Cat. In the country music scene, Kelsea Ballerini represented the genre.

Meanwhile, a star-studded performance of K-Pop groups TOMORROW X TOGETHER and STRAY KIDS excited the Hallyu fans.
