A Singapore hangout sparks a “One of a Kind” R&B single with SIRUP, me-mai, and Rangga Jones!
A special collaboration between producer me-mai, Indonesian singer Rangga Jones, and Japanese RNB artist SIRUP delights fans with “One of a Kind.”
What started as a meeting between me-mai and Rangga Jones in summer 2025 birthed their fresh release. The collaboration developed organically over a year, beginning in Singapore before inviting SIRUP to join the project.
The song brings together three artists from different backgrounds who share a common musical language, their love for RnB. Through soulful songwriting and forward-thinking production, these artists created another masterpiece, “One of a Kind.”
Art without borders
“One of a Kind” celebrates people with whom we’ve made remarkable memories throughout the course of their lives. Additionally, it also reminds us of our own individuality. Rather than staying within traditional genre boundaries, the song leans on a breezy house groove built for movement. It incorporates warm melodies, effortless vocals, and infectious rhythm, making the song more lively.
Moreover, the lyric video was shot in a single continuous take, extending the song’s collaborative spirit beyond music. Appearing in the video are Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners, whose art traces back to Japanese Judo. Acclaimed dancer UNO and a New Jack Swing specialist also made appearances.
Directed by visual creator Jun Usada, who has collaborated with me-mai with his project “Ms. Independent,” the video transforms rhythm into movement, expression, and connection. Similarly, it mirrors the cross-cultural spirit that shaped the song, uniting artistic excellence from musicians, dancers, and athletes.
Mirroring the song, the visuals are bound by diverse perspectives, cultures, and forms of expression. Most importantly, it shows how simple conversations can evolve into collaboration and creative disciplines, just like SIRUP, me-mai, and Rangga Jones did.
