Mikah, a Japanese-American singer-songwriter and global fashion icon, has released his new song “Chasing Paradise” via Avex.
This release, a lively, fast-paced pop song with an appealing chorus, keeps up his momentum as a budding pop star. “Chasing Paradise” was the result of an exhilarating cooperation with some of the best hitmakers in the music industry. The track features contributions from renowned producers and songwriters Wesley Singerman and Taylor Dexter. Their credits include working with artists such as Joji (on “Die For You”—one of Mikah’s favorites), Keshi, and Jon Batiste. Additionally, Will Jay, who previously worked with Mikah on his hit single “so I don’t forget,” also contributed to the track.
“This song contrasts childhood dreams with my current reality. Growing up in Hawaii, I experienced paradise, yet it rained. Even in success, the chase for the next paradise continues. This song hints at my future journey.” Mikah stated.
“Chasing Paradise” is a reflection on the realities of pursuing life’s ideals and the importance of enjoying the present amidst that pursuit. The song’s message of not losing oneself in the quest for the “perfect paradise” is heartfelt. The song’s pop-forward tune emotionally connects with listeners, encouraging them to reflect on their own journeys. It explores the psychological tension between idealized aspirations and the realities of life.
While “Chasing Paradise” maintains a more cheerful, uplifting tone compared to “Maybe It’s Me,” which showcases Mikah’s musical versatility. The album blends emotionally complex narratives with infectious pop choruses. With its festival-ready rhythm and upbeat chorus, the song thrills crowds at music festivals and live performances. Ultimately, the song sets the stage for Mikah’s global breakthrough.
As he continues to develop as an artist and a global personality, Mikah has gained the affection of followers throughout Asia. His highly anticipated second EP, PRETTY LIES, is set to drop November 22nd and is primed to resonate with audiences worldwide.
