The song “After Midnight” perfectly captures the spirit of late-night summertime. Moreover, it evokes the feeling of returning to the pool to cool off as the sun sets, just before heading out for the evening. Misha co-produced the song with Jordan Astra. Misha sent the track to Jordan Astra in the late summer of 2023, originally intending it for the MAN FROM EAST EP. They aimed to celebrate summer with this song.

“We always intended to write a song featuring samples from our favorite musicians and artists. Jordan Astra says, “R&B and the music we’re making is the kind of sound that keeps things upbeat.”

Initially, John Astra began producing beats during his time in college. However, while he produced music for local artists over the years, he thought that partnerships never progressed quickly enough. He was driven to become the artist we know today by this impatience.

Now that half of 2024 has passed, Jordan is anticipating his upcoming endeavor, Far Deeper. This EP explores themes of uncertainty, unpredictability, and taking that leap of faith. It is the second half of a three-part series.

Jordan Astra recently signed with Mind of a Genius Records (Zhu, THEY, Gallant). He is about to become the artist he knows he always has the potential to be.

The Man from East EP

The Man from East is a new eight-track record that is amiable and intimate. It consists of the songs “Starting From Scratch,” “The Same,” “Stay A While,” “Mesmerized,” “Worth,” “Somewhere Far,” and “Poetry.” The album features songs about his return trip to Toronto, Canada, from Australia after eight years away. Also was inspired by Jordan’s dad, who emigrated from his Indonesian home to establish a life in Canada.

A collection of songs motivated by those who abandon everything to pursue new goals. These songs are a love letter to that excluded feeling. More uncertain. Livelier. More freedom.

The title track, “Starting from Scratch,” is a tribute to throwing everything down and starting over. R&B slow burner brimming with suspense, unpredictability, and the sense of what’s to come.
