Indie-rock breakout Meg Elsier returns with the 17-track spittake (deluxe)—a rawer, more unfiltered, expanded version of her debut album, spittake.
Meg Elsier drops spittake (deluxe), the expanded edition of her acclaimed debut album spittake, out now via Bright Antenna Records since July 25, 2025. This deluxe release dives deeper into the emotional and creative core of the original album, packing 17 tracks—including unreleased demos, raw live recordings, and intimate B-sides—that lay bare the raw vulnerability behind her music.
Meg Elsier blends gauzy shoegaze textures, grungy guitars, and razor-sharp lyricism to make spittake (deluxe) hit harder and cut deeper. This expanded edition strips things down, offering a raw, unfiltered look into her creative process—messy, uncertain, and unapologetically human.
As she dives headfirst into themes of love, loss, nostalgia, youth, anxiety, and self-doubt, Meg pulls listeners into her sonic orbit with sharp self-awareness and her signature self-deprecating wit.

spittake (deluxe) Track List
This rising indie-rock singer describes the B-sides, demos, and deluxe edition as a full-on celebration of every little choice that shaped spittake into what it is.
Creating is such a vulnerable playground. It’s a place to make mistakes. It’s a place to try these characters and voices and performances without anyone watching. I wanted to show how much beauty can exist in the unfinished and imperfect.

“run [oldsong]”
The spotlight track, “run [oldsong],” stands out as the oldest and most emotionally charged piece in the spittake lineup—an outlier that Meg always knew had a place. Whenever she played it live, a hush would fall over the room, caught in what she described as “a kind of holy reverberation.”
Lyrically, it dives deep into themes of growth, connection, and the quiet resilience found in shared struggle. At one point, it came close to being shelved. However, the song was ultimately revived during a chaotic, joy-fueled recording session, which breathed new life into it and cemented its place in the album.
We kept all the original stems. We didn’t want to rethink it. We wanted this version of ‘run’ to stem from the work we did as a group, as friends.
Rising Indie-Rock Artist, Meg Elsier
Meg Elsier is quickly making waves as one of indie rock’s most exciting new voices. By blending sweet, delicate vocals with lush melodies, and pairing them with raw, distorted guitars and emotionally intense production, she creates a sound that’s both vulnerable and powerful.
Following the release of her 2024 debut LP—which earned acclaim from outlets like DIY Magazine, OnesToWatch, and CLASH for its bold sonic identity and unflinching storytelling—Meg’s momentum only grew stronger.
Since then, she has continued to rise. Most recently, she wrapped up tours with Blondshell and Liz Cooper, further cementing her status as a fearless and compelling force in today’s indie-rock scene.
