The 23-year-old Filipino-Australian breakout artist’s widely recognized body of work precedes Backflips in a Restaurant. Also, in his most boldly creative body of work to date. The artist combines elements of R&B, indie-folk, pop-punk, symphonic pop, ’70s soft-rock, and much more.

“’Backflips In A Restaurant’ is a taste of what’s to come in my artistry. I wanted to use this album to express who I am as an artist and a creator, what I have to offer in terms of differing genre’s and in this case; flavour. Growing up, I soaked up a lot of music from 70s soft rock, to 2000s R&B, bossa nova, indie, rap, etc. This music effectively influenced my music making, and since my first release in 2021 I’ve been itching to explore and experiment with my sound. As a creative, I believe my job is to constantly explore and express myself, and with ‘Backflips In A Restaurant’, I’m taking the steps to do just that” – grentperez

Australian singer-songwriter grentperez, who is only 23 years old, has already mastered his own pop music genre. His charmingly crooned love songs. Which brilliantly combine dreamy sincerity and light-hearted fun, have captured the hearts of audiences all over the world. Meanwhile, he uploaded his first video to his YouTube channel when he was just 12 years old. And over time, he accumulated 750k subscribers and over 100 million views.
Since making his debut with his gold-certified debut single, “Cherry Wine,” which peaked at number one on Spotify’s Viral 50 chart in multiple countries in 2021. The Sydney-born musician has performed live all over the world, as support acts such as Rex Orange County, Wallows, Laufey, and Cavetown. In addition, he has also sold out shows on his own headline tours. He also received praise from media outlets like NPR, which praised him as a “artist who makes music you can fall in love to and fall in love with”.
