Ed and Rupert’s Long Overdue Reunion
One of the best parts of the new single’s release is Ed’s reunion with Harry Potter star, Rupert Grint. For its music video, Rupert slipped back into the role of the Ed-obsessed fan who first appeared in the video for “Lego House” in 2011.
In the weeks leading up to the premiere, fans of both artists were given brief hints about the special cameo. This includes Ed replying to a mysterious TikTok from a user named “teddy’s ipad,” giving off the impression that someone hacked into his device. Later on, he also posted a video on his official accounts featuring Rupert with the caption “I like this song – The real Ed Sheeran.”

“A Little More”: An Absolutely “Bonkers” MV
Directed by Emil Nava, the music video shows Rupert’s fate after disrupting Ed’s concert in “Lego House.” 14 years later, he’s released from jail and tries his best to turn over a new leaf. He goes to therapy, gets a new job, and even finds himself a girlfriend (played by Game of Thrones’ Nathalie Emmanuel).
All seems well, until he realizes that recovery isn’t an easy road to cross.
As the days go on, he goes from randomly seeing the singer on television to encountering different versions of him in real life. This rapidly worsens until his wedding day, where he hallucinates Ed as his soon-to-be wife (and guests). Finally, the video ends with Rupert surrendering to his obsession for the second time.
Quoting what Ed said in a post, it’s truly a “fun, bonkers” video — one that vividly highlights the song’s meaning to an absurd level.

Behind the Track: “A Little More”
I used to love you
Now every day I hate you just a little more
Life got better when I lost you
But every day I hate you just a little more
Following his June release, “A Little More” is a smooth-flowing pop anthem with a touch of blues. Alongside Ed Sheeran, the song was composed by prominent songwriters in the industry such as DAVE, Blake Slatkin, Cirkut, and Johnny McDaid.
Its piercing lyrics carry a raw and sassy tone, like talking to a toxic ex you really want to forget. Add the fun music video into the mix, and it’s a real treat for long-time fans and casual listeners.
Ed’s next album, Play, is officially dropping on September 12! While waiting for its release, give his latest single “a little more” listens and bask in the memorable absurdity of its music video.
