More About Djo and The Crux

Although Keery was popularly known for his acting career, he was also a passionate music artist since he was a teenager. He joined the psych-rock band Post Animal while he was in Chicago. His first album was released in 2019, Twenty Twenty, under the pseudonym Djo. It was followed by his album, DECIDE, released through AWAL Recordings.

Additionally, the Crux album was written during Keery’s creative period, as he navigated the vagueness of his career while also being away from his beloved family and friends. The album explored the themes of self-resilience and the significance of creating a supportive community.

These concepts were engraved in the song’s lyrics, followed by a collaborative nature of the music. Moreover, the album was greatly infused with a sense of connection and warmth. Keery’s expansive vision was transformed into his album, emphasizing his talent and love for music.

The album can be a movie soundtrack with its relatable songs that can align with a character, emotion, and situation. With his collaboration with Neil Krug, this album will be a hotel where all of its guests are ephemeral and at a spiritual or emotional crossroads.
