Three years after his self-titled album, Charlie Puth officially announced the release date of his next studio album, Whatever’s Clever! Set to drop on March 6, 2026, the singer-songwriter further amplified his fans’ anticipation by unveiling the album’s first single along with some very important news.
On his Instagram, Charlie announced his new single “Changes” a week before its expected release. In the post, he hinted at a special event in his life that he wished to reveal through the aforementioned track:
This is the song I wanted you to hear first because it’s a perfect way to bring all of you into the most beautiful, colorful part of my life, which happens to be right now. You will soon know why…
The single officially dropped on October 16, alongside a pre-digital era-inspired music video directed by Charlotte Rutherford. It features Charlie playing with different instruments and interacting with characters made of clay, matching the track’s feel-good vibe. Amidst the video’s playful mood, his wife, Brooke Sansone, appeared for a lovely cameo where they reveal that they’re expecting their first child.

What’s New with Charlie: Sold Out Shows and Big Changes
Following his residency announcements, Charlie began his sold-out shows at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City last September. He performed twice a night, treating the guests with good music and sharing the stage with special guests such as legendary artists Babyface and Jimmy Jam, and Emmy-nominated Broadway actor Anthony Ramos.
After his new single’s release, he went on to conclude the second half of his residency run at Blue Note Los Angeles, wrapping up his final show with a live performance of “Changes.” While there are currently no announcements of new shows, more exciting news are on the horizon for fans.
