CASANDRA channels healing, heritage, and self-discovery in ISLA TRANQUILITA, a six-track EP inspired by her late aunt’s calming word.
Singer, songwriter, and producer CASANDRA introduces her new six-track EP, ISLA TRANQUILITA. The title translates to “little island of peace,” reflecting the project’s deeply personal inspiration.
CASANDRA created the EP as a tribute to her late great-aunt Teresa, a Cuban émigré who became a steady source of comfort throughout her childhood in Miami. Whenever life felt overwhelming, Teresa would softly remind her to stay “tranquilita,” encouraging her to slow down, breathe, and find peace. Now, CASANDRA transforms that memory into music.
Throughout the EP, CASANDRA balances vibrant production with intimate storytelling. She blends alt-pop, R&B, and electronic influences to craft immersive and cinematic tracks. In addition, she writes in both English and Spanish, embracing her Cuban heritage while building a sound that feels emotional, expansive, and uniquely her own.
CASANDRA developed the project during a difficult period marked by ongoing health struggles. However, the creative process soon became a source of healing and self-discovery.
It was sudden, I began creating from a place that felt like home. After all these years I had been building it inside of me—now it’s finally ready.
Furthermore, her collaboration with producer Jaye Locke helped create an environment where the music could evolve naturally and honestly.
Born in Miami and now based in Los Angeles, CASANDRA creates music that feels both intimate and liberating. She spent much of her childhood homeschooled, which strengthened her connection to her inner world and imagination. As a result, those experiences continue to shape her artistry today. Since releasing music as a teenager, she has spent nearly a decade building an independent career rooted in emotional honesty, vulnerability, and fearless self-expression.
With ISLA TRANQUILITA, CASANDRA steps into what she describes as her first true era. “I really feel like myself now,” she says. The EP captures her clearest artistic vision yet and invites listeners into a dreamy, emotional world where they can reflect, heal, and fully embrace themselves alongside her.
