“It’s hectic, obviously. We have conveyed the way that we view society through our eyes these days through our music,” said Jin Matutamtada, lead singer of Salad.

Their debut EP, “Beach Music,” heavily drew inspiration from 90s shoegaze. Salad explored new ground with 21st Century in a Nutshell. With a psychedelic style, this new LP aims to portray Salad’s perspective on the reality of depression in the present era. It’s a significant release for the band, showing that Salad’s music has no boundaries, with hits like “Cordyceps,” “A Cubicle Girl,” “Dunsan,” and “Black Mirror.”

Furthermore, the album’s first track, “CVC,” serves as its centerpiece. Jin talked about the song by saying, “I remember vividly one of my mates suffering from credit card debt. It is a form of modern-day slavery that is subtly normalized. It’s so indulgent to buy things in the present, and so easy to pay for things in six-month installments without thinking of the consequences, just like snapping your fingers.”

About Salad

Salad is a band from Bangkok, Thailand, consisting of vocalist and guitarist Jin, drummer Korn, and bassist Parn. Jin discovered fascinating facts about the younger generation. Despite their diverse origins and backgrounds, they still have a common interest in politics, films, and the arts, demonstrating the true beauty and power of youth.

His personal interactions with younger multinationals at a South Korean language school served as the inspiration for all of this. With a focus on relationships and long-forgotten memories, he intends to use this inspiration to bring his younger self back to life through his music and lyrics.
