Nanon Korapat has once again proven his emotional artistry in crafting music through his latest release, “Shiftless,” featuring a passion-filled and moving music video.
On October 27, 2025, Nanon Korapat, one of the widely recognized solo acts in T-Pop, released his new single “Shiftless.” The song is one of the tracks for his upcoming album SEVEN, following his last release in August, “Make You Mine.”
“Shiftless” was inspired by one of the deadly sins—sloth. Aligned with his upcoming album Seven, which will feature the seven deadly sins, it first introduced “Make You Mine,” which reflects the ideals of lust. Thus, here comes the next sin: sloth—a quiet, deceptively soft one. In addition, it’s defined as a culpable lack of physical or spiritual effort—not just lying around doing nothing, but also that heavy, empty feeling of not caring enough to try.
In addition, sloth is sometimes called the “love gone thin” sin. It’s when the spark fades—not dramatically, but slowly—through indifference. Furthermore, it shows up in skipping responsibilities, shrugging off personal growth, or avoiding difficult truths. And ironically, sloth isn’t always about doing less—sometimes it’s filling life with noise and busywork just to avoid what really matters inside.

“Shiftless” by Nanon Korapat
“Shiftless” has a calm and slow sound that makes it feel heavy and emotional. The music doesn’t rush, and Nanon sings in a gentle, tired tone. It feels like someone who has been hurt for a long time and is now too exhausted to show big feelings.
Moreover, the song doesn’t try to be dramatic or loud. Instead, it shows quiet sadness—the kind you feel when the tears have already dried. It’s the feeling of being stuck in emotions that you don’t know how to handle anymore.
Instead of a strong or powerful chorus, the song keeps its soft and steady pace. In addition, this helps the listener feel the tiredness and emotional weight the song is trying to express. Furthermore, it’s a heartbreak song, but not the kind that cries out loud. It’s the kind that just sits in silence and feels everything slowly.
The Creative Lyricism and Concept of the Song
Sloth is not just about being lazy. It also describes a kind of emotional tiredness where someone feels too drained to care or take action. In the song, the person knows they are hurting, but they still choose to remain where they are.
You keep on telling me to leave again and again
Saying those same old
Saying your heart’s gone cold
The lyrics show someone who wants to stop loving because it is painful, but they cannot fully let go either. This is the “sloth” part: staying in the same emotional place even though it hurts. The heart wants to move, but it is too heavy to do so.
This kind of sloth is not about not caring. It’s about caring so much that it becomes exhausting. The song shows how a person can be stuck between feeling too much and not wanting to feel at all.
I don’t want to love someone new
No new people I want to pursue
‘Cause this heart that I gave
Is all yours, with nothing left to save
What makes the song emotionally tugging is how Nanon turned these words into a piercing melody that strikes deeply. It is not just a one-play song; it’s the kind of track that makes you listen to it on repeat.

“Shiftless” Music Video and Its Cinematic Feel
The music video features “Tata” Tarnpol Pongnarisorn as Nanon’s love interest. The entire music video feels both cinematic and melancholic. It narrates the story of two lovers stuck in a zombie chaos where Tata is bitten. Nanon is forced to tie him, even though it hurts to see the one he loves suffer.
The MV uses soft colors and slow movements to show emotional heaviness. Nanon does not make big expressions or dramatic gestures. He simply exists in the scene, looking tired and thoughtful. This stillness reflects how the character feels inside—the world moves on, but he seems frozen in his emotions.
There are no loud or fast moments, matching the song’s mood: everything feels slow, quiet, and heavy. Additionally, the video shows emotional sloth clearly—a person who is hurting but cannot find the strength to let go. His eyes are filled with sadness and pain—afraid of losing the one he loves. The MV ends with Nanon letting Tata bite him, so even in their zombie form, they could remain together.
My Personal Review of Nanon’s “Shiftless”
It’s well-known how brilliant an artist Nanon is, but in this song, he did not just release a track—he delivered emotion. The first time I heard it, it struck me. Nanon’s voice feels like it speaks to the deepest agony inside—like it is telling me to feel his pain.
Watching the video was a different kind of hurt. In his previous release, “Make You Mine,” he had a bold and rough presence. But in this MV, it feels like meeting a new version of him—helpless and almost ready to give up. It captures the pain of watching someone you love suffer, and knowing you are the only one who can end it. It’s like a heart-wrenching dead end.
What makes me even prouder of this concept is the fact that among all the solo acts of RISER MUSIC, only Nanon featured a male artist in his music video. Considering that the solo artists under the label are mostly Boys’ Love actors, Nanon proved he can work with anyone.
And yes—his chemistry with Tata did not disappoint. It felt natural, as if they shared a long history. In addition, this is not just proof of his versatility, but of his artistic growth.
