ONE OR EIGHT unveils their debut EP EN-GÏNE, blending global influences, Tokyo street culture, and a message that breaks language and cultural barriers.

Japanese group ONE OR EIGHT officially unveils their debut EP EN-GÏNE, bringing together the ideas, sounds, and energy they have developed through their previous releases.

ONE OR EIGHT

The six-track project features lead single “TRANSLATE” alongside previously released tracks such as “MONSTER” and “INVINCIBLE.” The former has appeared in the 2026 TV commercial campaign for the International Professional University of Technology in Tokyo, while the latter serves as the ending theme for Nippon TV’s “ICHIBACHI! – BET from Tokyo to the World -.”

With EN-GÏNE, ONE OR EIGHT builds a musical identity that moves beyond borders and language. The EP reflects their belief that individuality remains constant regardless of where people come from or what language they speak.

TRANSLATE Breaks Language Barriers

The lead track “TRANSLATE” puts that message at the center. The song moves between Japanese and English while repeatedly emphasizing the phrase “No need to translate.”

Instead of relying solely on lyrics, ONE OR EIGHT communicates through performance, energy, and attitude. The production combines rage-inspired elements, playful electronic textures, distorted 808s, and expansive synths. Furthermore, the track blends global youth culture with Tokyo’s distinctive street energy.

The accompanying music video takes the concept to Vietnam. Directed by Phuong Vu and produced by ANTIANTIART, the visual follows ONE OR EIGHT as agents searching for a Japanese yōkai that has escaped to Vietnam.

Set against the country’s streets, the video combines Japanese folklore with a retro-futuristic aesthetic inspired by 1990s spy films. Meanwhile, choreography by Akanen adds another layer of movement to the cross-cultural production.

ONE OR EIGHT Takes EN-GÏNE Across Asia

The EP also connects with the group’s broader message of movement. It draws from Latin influences, hip-hop, and Tokyo street culture while maintaining ONE OR EIGHT’s identity.

The group will bring EN-GÏNE to audiences across Asia through ONE OR EIGHT Special SHOWCASE 2026 in ASIA -V8-. The tour will stop in Singapore on October 21, Manila on October 23, and Bangkok on October 25.

ONE OR EIGHT

Back in Japan, ONE OR EIGHT will launch ONE OR EIGHT SHŪKAI 2026-2027 in JAPAN -2GATHER-, a fan meeting tour covering all 47 prefectures.

Member SOUMA describes EN-GÏNE as a project that captures the group’s identity while reimagining Japanese culture through their perspective. He also hopes the music will connect with listeners beyond language and cultural barriers.

With EN-GÏNE, ONE OR EIGHT turns their message into a complete musical statement. The group now takes that energy from Tokyo to stages around the world.

Listen to ONE OR EIGHT’s EN-GÏNE now and experience the group’s energetic sound as they take their music beyond borders and languages.
