Duff co-wrote the track with Matthew Koma, Madison Love and Brian Phillips. Koma and Phillips also produced the song. With its dramatic arrangements and emotional depth, “CATastrophe” serves as a central musical moment in the film. The song first appeared in a newly released movie trailer and is now available through Atlantic Records.

Director Dano Cerny helmed the official music video, which brings the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss to life. The visual follows Duff as she moves through oversized, fantastical environments that blend seamlessly into her surroundings.

Duff shared that her childhood memories inspired her involvement in the project. “Dr. Seuss was on repeat in our house for years, so when this came around I didn’t have to think about it,” she said.

She also explained the song’s emotional message. “CATastrophe” explores the feeling of having your entire world change without warning or consent. Duff wanted the track to express those emotions honestly while delivering an energetic sound that listeners could enjoy at full volume.

“CATastrophe” Joins the Film’s Official Soundtrack

Fans can find the song on The Cat in the Hat (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), which WaterTower Music will release on October 30.

The soundtrack combines original compositions and familiar musical elements to complement the film’s imaginative storytelling.
