Ashe debuts “Stop The Wedding!” under Atlantic Records, drawing inspiration from her marriage, personal growth, and reflections on love.
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Ashe has released her new single, “Stop The Wedding!”, alongside a music video directed by Silken Weinberg. The track marks her first release under Atlantic Records and introduces a new chapter in her musical career.
Producer Noah Conrad, known for his work with Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan, produced the song. Ashe co-wrote it with Conrad and Annika Bennett, who has worked with ROLE MODEL and Conan Gray. The track embraces theatrical pop with dramatic tempo changes, layered vocals and sweeping string arrangements.

The inspiration came from a deeply personal experience. On her wedding day last year, Ashe married fellow musician John Clark Canada at a ceremony outside Nashville. The occasion prompted her to reflect on her first marriage, which ended in divorce and inspired her breakout hit, “Moral of the Story.” Ashe shared:
I was thinking about how absolutely perfect my wedding day was. And how horrifying the first wedding was. I’m married and divorced and the only reason I have a career is because of the song I wrote about it.
She also reflected on how her perspective on marriage had changed with age. “This time around, I was in my 30s and I just kept thinking about how much autonomy I have in it and how if this didn’t feel right for some reason, I could totally put a halt to this whole thing. I didn’t feel that freedom as a 23-year-old getting married.”
Ashe Joins Benson Boone for Summer Tour
Following the release, Ashe will hit the road this summer as a supporting act for Benson Boone. The tour will include stops in Denver, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles and San Diego, among other cities. Fans can check the official tour schedule and purchase tickets through the designated ticketing channels.
Moreover, Ashe has hinted at more new music coming soon, giving listeners another reason to look forward to her next releases.
From “Moral of the Story” to a New Musical Chapter
Ashe continued to expand her musical reach last year through The Favors, a collaborative project with her close friend and longtime collaborator Finneas. The duo released their debut album, The Dream, to widespread acclaim.
Her latest solo studio album, Willson (2024), marked a return to her Nashville roots and songwriting foundations. The record completed a trilogy that began with Ashlyn (2021) and continued with Rae (2022).
Critics praised Willson for its emotional storytelling and blend of indie pop and folk influences. Forbes and People were among the publications that recognized the album, while The Tennessean highlighted Ashe’s expressive vocals and reflective songwriting.
Throughout her career, Ashe has collaborated with prominent artists and performed alongside major names in the music industry, including Finneas, Noah Kahan and Niall Horan. In 2025, she also toured with Kelsea Ballerini and Gracie Abrams.
Her breakthrough single, “Moral of the Story,” gained international attention after appearing on the soundtrack of Netflix’s To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You in 2020. The song accumulated billions of streams and reached No. 2 on both the global and U.S. Spotify Viral 50 charts.
With “Stop The Wedding!”, Ashe revisits the complicated emotions surrounding love and marriage through a more mature perspective. The release also signals the beginning of her partnership with Atlantic Records as she prepares to share more music with listeners.
