What a night! The Juans turned the Viva Cafe Show into an unforgettable, intimate experience with their heartfelt KwentoJuan sessions and stellar performances, featuring Alamat.
Filipino artists The Juans and Alamat are expected to release a collaborative single titled “Gupit” on June 14, 2024. In addition, Viva Cafe Show attendees heard the song prior to its official release.

Tonight’s special guest: Alamat
Alamat lives up to its reputation as the multilingual and multiethnic P-pop sensation. As expected, Taneo, Mo, Tomas, R-Ji, Alas, and Jao gave fans an extraordinary night with their charismatic performances of hit songs, “Maharani” and “Dayang.”
They also played games with The Juans, creating an entertaining and interactive atmosphere. In one game, each member from Alamat and The Juans wore a vest with a letter attached. The host would ask a question, and the players would respond by arranging the letters correctly to form a word.
By creating words like “shampoo,” “salon,” “comb,” “bangs,” “gunting,” and more, they were able to win the game. As a result, they give away a postcard to fans signed by all the members of both groups.
Deep talks with The Juans and Alamat during KwentoJuan
KwentoJuan is a podcast hosted by The Juans. Alamat answered a series of personal questions asked by the band. Alamat was first asked, “What is your first impression of The Juans members?” to which the members responded that their The Juans kuyas appear to be caring; the first time they met was in a Zoom meeting years ago, and The Juans members offered them advice as artists that they could use in their careers. Also, Alamat R-Ji said that RJ, a member of The Juans, has a youthful vibe.
The band then asked the second question, “What are your extreme challenges as a group?” Jao answered by saying that one of the hardest things was that they had already built a deep bond as a group of nine when they first formed. It turned out that other members had their own paths, which they unfortunately needed to leave. Member Mo also mentioned that they struggle to sing high notes when other members quit the group because only a few members can sing their part.

If you could choose one member to stand beside you in the extreme challenges, who would it be?
Tomas replied that he would choose Alas because he knew that Alas had plenty of life experience. Alas also said that he would make up for Tomas’ shortcomings and vice versa.
Taneo and Jao selected one another because they both claimed that their personalities always matched, such as having similar life perspectives. And Taneo was the first person Jao would approach in any given situation. After all, he knows Taneo will share the same thoughts. Jao also claimed that although he is close with all of the members, Taneo is the one he approaches first when talking about problems.
Lastly, Mo and R-Ji also choose each other in the same way as others. Mo stated that they always laugh through problems, while R-Ji claimed that he could also have deep conversations with Mo.
After hearing answers from the Alamat members, The Juans members said that having each other is very important. Also, it’s great that they always choose each other.
Spectacular performances by The Juans
The band performed some of their songs, including “Pwede ba kitang ligawan?,” “Dulo,” “Hatid,” their latest single, “Napagod Na,” and their hit song “Hindi Tayo Pwede,” showcasing the powerful vocals of The Juans.
Moreover, they also sang their collaboration song with Alamat, “Gupit,” which will be released on June 14, 2024. The song was performed for the first time before its official release.
