JL is ready to make waves with his new single, “Alon”!
As his much-awaited K-Pop debut nears, JL Gaspar prepares a heartfelt goodbye to his cherished memories in the Philippines through his new single released in June 6. “Alon” is a heartfelt song he recorded in 2024 prior to auditioning for the South Korean idol survival show Universe League, where he successfully claimed a spot in its final group lineup.

First Look: “Alon” by JL
Ano bang meron satin
Na hindi mo masabi
Kailan ko malalaman
Kung nalulunod ka na rin sa akin
“Alon” conveys the feeling of “drowning in love and the painful uncertainty that often accompanies it,” says Universal Records Philippines. It’s an emotional track that expresses a love that hurts, shrouded in doubt yet still wanting to hold on. Though the release date was still unknown then, JL sang a brief preview of this song during his first fan meeting in the Philippines last February.
The single will be available on all major streaming platforms starting this June 6. Fueling the excitement, a special music video will also be coming soon!

Looking Ahead: JL’s Precious Past and Future Journey
Before Universe League, JL was an active member of P-Pop group PLUUS with Justin, Haro, Gab, Theo, and Yen. Besides being the youngest, he was also endearingly named the “Nation’s Giant Center.” He endured years of training under SBTown before officially debuting on March 31, 2023, with the mini album PLUUS +.Y.M.
His dreams didn’t stop there, as he bravely stepped away from his comfort zone and joined Universe League the following year. There, JL showed his overflowing charisma and impressive skills to an international audience. He even captured the hearts of renowned artists in the K-pop industry, including NCT‘s Ten and Yangyang, his mentors in Team Rhythm.
After making history by winning first place in the show, JL is set to debut in the K-Pop scene this July as a member of AHOF — or “All-time Hall Of Famer,” a name which serves to showcase their determination to make a mark as global stars. Alongside JL, this 9-member group comprises Woongki, Han, Steven, Shuaibo, Juwon, Jeongwoo, Chih En, and Daisuke.
JL’s journey so far is proof of his unwavering spirit and passion as an artist. However, it’s only the beginning for him. While this means leaving his home country for a while, his upcoming single is a sincere reminder that he’ll never forget his roots.
Let’s send our warmest congratulations by listening to “Alon” and supporting his future endeavors.
Fighting, JL!
