PLAVE is leveling up — and this time, they’re heading to Japan! Three years after their debut, the virtual K-pop group is gearing up to release their first Japanese single, “Kakurenbo (Hide and Seek).”
PLAVE was formed under the entertainment company VLAST, led by CEO Lee “William” Sunggoo. Inspired by the visual style of manhwa, the company envisioned a virtual K-pop group that blended striking digital visuals with real musical talent.
It all began when VLAST pitched the idea of a virtual idol group and found the perfect artist to voice the group’s leader, Yejun. From there, they brought in four more talented performers: Bamby, Noah, Eunho, and Hamin, who completed the five-member lineup of this groundbreaking Korean virtual boy group.
What makes PLAVE stand out isn’t just their animated charm — it’s the real artists behind them. Each member is a skilled performer who pursued careers in K-pop and R&B. Beyond their vocals, they also write, compose, choreograph, and even play instruments for their songs, much like top-tier acts such as BTS and Stray Kids.

PLAVE Japan Debut Single and Schedules
The track will be available digitally on June 16 JST, with the full album release set for July 9 JST. To top it off, the group has just dropped the official jacket cover to tease what’s coming.
PLAVE offers a sneak peek that radiates nostalgia. The five members stood by the train handles, their faces touched by warm sunlight filtering through the window, as if caught between past memories and new beginnings.
As PLAVE prepares to unveil their Japanese single this June, the timing feels almost fated — a heartfelt gift that arrives just in time for their 4th anniversary for their beloved PPLIs. More than a release, it’s a celebration of the journey they’ve shared with their fans and the new chapter they’re about to begin together.
PLAVE is proving their place in the spotlight. They took home Fan Choice (5th Gen)’ and ‘Best Group (Male), which is a remarkable feat that speaks volumes about their growing influence. Their success highlights the power of creativity and the impressive work of the team supporting their rise.
PLAVE’s latest single, “Dash,” accomplished a major achievement when it became the first Korean virtual idol song to enter the Billboard Global 200 in February 2025. The group’s popularity surged further with their tracks “Pump Up the Volume!” and “Way 4 Luv,” which also secured places on the Global 200 Excl. U.S. chart.
To all the PPLIs out there — it’s time to make some noise! Let’s stand behind PLAVE as they step boldly into a new era. Your love and support mean everything as the group drops their much-awaited comeback this June!
