Ahead of the release, Jellyfish Entertainment unveiled the album’s highlight medley on March 20 through its official social media channels. The preview offers fans a first look at the project’s emotional tone, featuring snippets of all three tracks while hinting at the album’s introspective narrative.

The medley showcases Kangmin navigating themes of anxiety and self-discovery. Through subtle visuals and expressive delivery, he portrays the fragile space between youth and adulthood. Each track reflects a different emotional layer, building a cohesive story of uncertainty and growth.

The opening track, “Intro : small, fragile and still here,” pairs calm narration with delicate vocals layered over a textured, cassette-like sound. Kangmin contributed to the lyrics, while VERIVERY leader Dongheon supported the track’s writing and composition.

The title track, “Free Falling,” takes on a contemporary R&B pop sound. With dynamic rhythms, guitar, and EP elements, the song explores a relationship caught between love and pain—where two people repeatedly drift apart and pull back together. Kangmin also participated in writing the track, further shaping its emotional direction.

Closing the album is “in the mirror,” a mid-tempo pop song driven by punchy drums, deep bass, and atmospheric synths. The track reflects a quieter form of vulnerability, capturing the struggle to accept one’s true self.

With Free Falling, Kangmin offers a deeply personal introduction to his solo artistry. The album captures a moment of transition—uncertain, reflective, and searching—while highlighting his expanding musical identity.
