When the heart in art becomes prominent—the care in craft is there. So goes the music, as RM of BTS releases his second solo album, “Right Place, Wrong Person” (RPWP).

People say that RPWP, filled with emotions never seen before, is more mature than “Indigo” of BTS member RM. Instead of venturing into his 20-year-old life archive, his second album talks more uncensored and raw.

THE 11-TRACK RUNDOWN

Right People, Wrong Place

It’s RM in his nature, being the Rap Monster that he is. This first track adds flavor to the chaos and calm of the album. It somehow embodies a futuristic and retro synth feel.

Nuts

“Nuts” belongs to the explicit side of the discography. Moreover, it brings out RM’s sexy play on lyrics and vocals. It’s vibey and jumpy at the same time, teasing, ‘I could make this the right place for you.’

out of love

If there are songs about falling in love, then let RM bravely share the experience of falling out of love. In this track, he slaps on criticisms about being real—maybe vices and such. He clearly draws the line on the haters and shuts them down.

Domodachi (feat. Little Simz)

A powerful intro of jazzy vibes welcomes ‘Domodachi.” Call RM the king of wordplay, as this track uses the Japanese words “Domo” and “Tomodachi.” Also, “Domo” means thank you, and “Tomodachi” means friends. For sure, it’s just a whole lot of love for his friends.

? (Interlude)

Beautifully laid out beats and synths are a way to describe “? (Interlude).” It seems like RM’s vocals are a poem backed up with music.

Groin

One of the tracks features explicit lyricism, demonstrating RM’s true mastery of his music. It is somehow an artistic way of reading the title of the track as is, or maybe a wordplay for saying “Growing” in slang, as it brings a more mature sound to it.

Heaven

If you could picture yourself having the time of your life—this is the theme song you need. It has a very cool, laid-back feel—just the perfect breeze.

LOST!

The title track of the album says so much about his new music theme. It deals with RM’s effort to understand every version of himself and learn to love it. The track contains an upbeat background and lively synths.

Around the world in a day (feat. Moses Sumney)

A very relaxed part of the album is “Around the world in a day.” The song slows down, allowing you to work yourself up while you sleep. A few interjections of guitar strums add texture.

TT TT (Credit Roll)

It sounds like a nostalgic ending to a retro game. RM takes his time to send his heartfelt gratitude towards everyone who helped make the album. The same is true for those who listened to this track.

Come back to me

The first track to release a music video, “Come back to me,” showcases RM’s unique storytelling style, providing an intricate depiction of a person’s life cycle. It features a catchy tune and whistling ensembles, making it a signature piece of music for RM.
