Now with high hopes, BTS Jhope welcomes his sophomore album, “Hope on the Street Vol. 1”.
Dubbed BTS’ dance machine, Jung Hoseok, most known as Jhope, has recently unveiled the full track list for his album “Hope on the Street Vol. 1”. The discography consists of six listen-to-dance tracks.
Jhope continues to venture on a journey of individuality with his music and style. He recalls, in an exclusive interview with WeVerse magazine, his inspiration for creating his musicality today. The BTS superstar wanted to showcase an unfiltered version of him.
“As you know, I often present myself with a sunny demeanor. So I have a strong desire to display a different side of me. I personally challenged myself to do that in my current projects. I wanted to show an extremely dark, raw side,” Jhope says.
Moreover, Jhope seeks to break down barriers between music genres. He is gearing towards something innovative for him as an artist.
“If I was going to convey the things I wanted to say, I would have to be darker. It’s something I’ve never done before, so I was excited to try something new. I was heavily influenced by what my heart was telling me, and that’s why I decided to give it a try,” Jhope shared.
“In my time working and living, I figured out the stories I can tell are extremely limited when I only use my natural style or how people see me. I have things I want to say, but I kept feeling like, if I did them in the same style I always have, they wouldn’t come across well,” Jhope added.

ON THE TRACKS
on the street (solo version)
It screams Jhope in his nature with his first track, “on the street (solo version)”. An iconic collaboration with rapper J. Cole holds a nostalgic feeling with listeners. His solo version consists of Jhope’s fresh verse.
i wonder… (with JUNG KOOK of BTS)
It’s brotherhood chemistry as Jungkook joins Jhope with “i wonder”. The tune brings in a chill yet upbeat vibe. It’s a whole new level of BTS’ “Wings OUTRO” HopeKook for sure.
lock / unlock (with benny blanco & Nile Rogers)
Hobi brings in a different level of house-trap music with “lock / unlock”. The sound resembles an evergreen type of party music. Truly enough, Jhope brings music and dance together.
i don’t know (with HUH HYUNJIN of LE SSERAFIM)
Talk about HYBE Labels Powerhouse, a collaboration of Jhope and Hyunjin. A carefree type of beat welcomes this new house party jam. Indulge in the new breed of dance music with “i don’t know.”.
what if… (dance mix)
Street music at its finest, “what if,” is a mellow dance music. The song resembles his debut music in “Jack In the Box”. It consists of rock-type sound ensembles that show a different side of Jhope’s music.
NEURON (with Gaeko & YOON MIRAE)
Jhope’s single NEURON pays tribute to his hometown dance crew with the same name. He pays homage to the roots of his love for dancing in Gwangju. The song is accompanied by an artistic music video in black and white—with popping street-style colors.
JHope is happy to share his love for dance and music with “Hope On the Street Vol. 1”.
“I think now I’m definitely continuing to craft the style I have within BTS as well as my own style I can show individually. I almost feel embarrassed calling myself an artist (laughs), but I think I’ve become the kind of artist who’s capable of that,” Jhope says.
A documentary series called “Hope on the Street,” including his artistry and idol journey, is available on Prime Video.
