KIM SEJEONG has officially returned to music with the release of her first single album, Solar System. This marks a new chapter in her career as both an actress and a singer. The release comes two years after her first full-length album, Door (2023), and revisits Sung Si Kyung’s 2011 ballad “Solar System (태양계)” through a restrained and introspective remake.
Rather than simply recreating the original, Sejeong delivers a version that emphasizes emotional clarity and vocal nuance. Her interpretation leans on subtle phrasing and controlled breaths, allowing the song’s melancholy to unfold naturally.
“Since I’m releasing a new song after a while, I worked very hard on this single in hopes of breaking the limit of my vocal skills. I hope many people could resonate with it.” Sejeong shared.
The remake was arranged in collaboration with singer-songwriter and producer Jukjae, who approached the track with a clear narrative vision. By maintaining the emotional atmosphere of the original while reframing its sorrow, the new arrangement allows Sejeong’s voice to act as the song’s central storyteller. Jukjae described the reinterpretation as resembling “the monologue of an actor who has just begun telling their story.” This notes that the production process involved constant reflection on tone and progression. The goal, he explained, was to preserve the mystery and emotional weight of the lyrics. All of these while expressing the imagery of glistening planets through organic, acoustic sounds. The result invites listeners into an intimate listening experience shaped by breath and restraint rather than spectacle.
Solar System arrives shortly after Sejeong’s return to television with MBC’s historical fantasy romance drama Moon River. The series premiered on November 7, 2025. While her presence on screen continues to reach global audiences, the release of the single marks the beginning of her 2026 promotional activities in music.
That next chapter includes her upcoming fan concert tour, 2026 KIM SEJEONG FAN CONCERT. This begins on January 10, 2026, in Seoul. The tour will then travel to Taipei, Melbourne, Sydney, Manila, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Yokohama, allowing fans across Asia and Australia to reconnect with her through live performances.
