Neverland, rejoice! (G)I-DLE comeback is on the horizon once again, and they’re taking every one of us along for the ride!

January 8 marked the beginning of a brand-new era for (G)I-DLE. The fearless quintet is now ready to rock our world again. Their upcoming comeback marks their return to the scene after their last two EPs, I Feel, and the English collaboration with 88 Rising titled Heat.

The announcement for their second full-length album, enigmatically titled 2, came with teasers on their social media accounts coupled with a partial reveal of the contents.

gidle comeback 2024The teasers we’ve seen so far leave a lot to the imagination, with (G)I-DLE’s YouTube account posting a short video showcasing the number letters of their logo to form the number 2 and then back again. It then provided the ominous release date, January 29. All the while, a short, chilling piece of music serves as accompaniment.

Meanwhile, their Twitter account revealed a black-and-red poster of a woman from the neck down with sparkling nails and a revealing outfit.

Fortunately, the contents revealed for the album aren’t as sparse as the social media posts!

2 is set to release with a whopping thirteen different album variations. There will be a trio of standard versions (namely 0, 1, and 2), along with two member-centric types of albums: one with a jewel case and the other as your typical CD. Not to be forgotten are the goodies present in every such package. We’ll be getting stickers, redeemable digital content, and, most importantly, collectible photocards.

With promotion for the comeback still in its early stages, it’d be interesting to see what (G)I-DLE will have in store. Will it be something that exudes that signature Cube energy, like their former labelmate eonnis HyunA and CLC? While they brought the heat with the likes of their hits “Babe” and “No,” could (G)I-DLE also look to recapture that freedom of expression? If they were able to do it in spades with “Queencard” and “Tomboy,” then they could tap into that well of creativity—and effortlessly so—one more time.

However, judging by the vibe of the teaser, they could embrace a darker aesthetic. (G)I-DLE is no stranger to such a thing, having released the mesmerizing track “Oh My God” back in 2020. Could Soyeon and the rest of the group be looking to push the boundaries of creativity once again?

Whatever the case may be, we’re sure to be treated to something special. (G)I-DLE is sure to turn heads and make waves like only they can with this comeback!
