Into the Mind of the Artist

Dream Perfect Regime (DPR) is a multi-genre music and video group consisting of DPR Arctic, DPR Live, DPR Cream, DPR CLINE, DPR Rem, and DPR Ian. One of their members, born Christian Yu or Ian, turned to music to express his mind and emotions as someone who deals with bipolar disorder. Further, the group shares a wide range of artistry when it comes to visuals and musicality.

In an interview with Rolling Stones, Ian shared how he came to portray the character of MITO, and the projection of his created alter ego changed and influenced his music.

“I realized there’s no such thing as balance for someone like me. I’ve been trying to find [it], and that’s why it just spiraled into more problems. When I accepted the idea that it shouldn’t be balanced, that’s when I started finding more peace,” Ian says.

“Metaphorically, when I’m [Mito] in that, I see the world differently,” he added.
