As the new year opens a new chapter for our book, we put up 12 of the best songs we have enjoyed. Here is Pop Journal’s Top K-pop Hits of 2023!

1. Smoke (Prod. Dynamicduo, Padi) – Dynamicduo ft. Lee Young Ji

To start of the list for Top K-pop Hits of 2023, is a bop from Dynamic Duo and Lee Young Ji, which has taken over our timeline with its TikTok dance challenge popularized by K-pop dance choreographer Bada Lee.

“Smoke” has become iconic in K-idols such as BTS’ V and Jungkook, SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi and DK, Cravity‘s Hyeongjun, Super Junior‘s Eunhyuk, RIIZE’s Shotaro, and ITZY’s Ryujin and Yeji. It is a rap that definitely wrapped up this year’s dance battle.

2. Love Lee – AKMU

 

Starting with a charming, light-hearted song from the Lee siblings is AKMU’s “Love Lee”! This song’s upbeat tune and easy dance craze had to be in everyone’s K-pop playlist of the year. Have a lovely day; hearing the music will put you in a good mood.

3. Super Shy – New Jeans

It’s an era of bubbly tunes for the Top K-pop Hits of 2023, as New Jeans released their song “Super Shy.” The song also has a cute choreography that no one could get enough of. You won’t be embarrassed or shy to hop on the dance challenge.

4. S Class – Stray Kids

A power song for 2023 is Stray Kids’ “S-Class.” It covers an excellent and feisty beat and vibe of the group. It highlights the strong persona of their album, 5 Star. Surely, this is a song to remember and is listed as 2023’s best.

5. Guilty – Taemin

Talk about a legend’s comeback is SHINEE’s Taemin for his song, “Guilty.” The track’s sexy and hot dance tops everyone’s must-see for 2023. K-idols also took the opportunity to dance to its beats, such as NCT‘s Mark and Taeyong, BTS’ Jimin, and Stray Kids’ Hyunjin.

6. MOONLIGHT SUNRISE – TWICE

Call it a sweet treat from TWICE with their single “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE.” The group’s second English song was released for their Ready to Be album. As Tzuyu explained in their Kelly Clarkson interview, the song’s message is about the metaphor of moonlight and sunrise with the feeling of being in love.

7. Seven – Jungkook of BTS

If you’re looking for a song that hooks you up seven days a week, you could never go wrong with BTS‘ Jungkook’s “Seven.” The song won daesangs and global recognition, such as “Best Song” at the 2023 MTV EMA and the “Global K-pop Song” at the Billboard Music Awards.

8. Cake – ITZY

It’s a piece of cake, but you’ll be happy to get a taste of it. ITZY’s single, “Cake,” has to be one of the most LSS (Last Song Syndrome) tunes in 2023. The adorable yet relaxed vibe of the song will surely get you up on your feet and dancing.

9. Sour & Sweet – BamBam of GOT7

Live your fantasy with BamBam‘s dreamy song, “Sour & Sweet.” It is a song you could jam with your friends in the car or put on a loudspeaker at a dance party. The song has a refreshing vibe to it.

10. Tantara – iKON

If you’re into the type of beat that will make everyone turn their heads, iKON’s “Tantara” is the answer. It is a song full of crisp beats and sick tunes that will make good impressions for its listeners.

A banger for 2023 is ATEEZ’s “BOUNCY”; its hardcore beats make it distinct and surely add to the year’s workout playlist. If you’re into spunky songs, this is it!
