Ovation Productions, in partnership with the Cultural Center of the Philippines, brings the legendary Vienna Boys’ Choir to Manila. The event will happen on April 26 and 27 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. This special engagement was arranged with the support of the Austrian Embassy in Manila. It marks part of the choir’s centennial touring celebrations.
Founded in Vienna, Austria, the choir has become one of the world’s most renowned boys’ ensembles, enchanting audiences globally for nearly a century. Additionally, since their first international tour in 1926, the Vienna Boys’ Choir has performed over 29,000 concerts across 100 countries. Their first visit to the Philippines was in 1967. Followed by a return in 2016, making this performance a highly anticipated homecoming.

Today, 97 boy choristers perform across four touring ensembles: Brucknerchor (Choirmaster Manolo Cagnin), Haydnchor (Choirmaster Jimmy Chiang), Mozartchor (Choirmaster Manuel Huber), and Schubertchor (Choirmaster Niccolò Morello). Together, these choirs share concerts, tours, recordings, and film projects, performing up to 300 concerts annually. Each choir carries forward the rich tradition of musical excellence. Connecting generations through their signature blend of voice, precision, and artistry.

Maestro Leadership and Concert Details
Since 2008, Maestro Manolo Cagnin has led the Brucknerchor on international tours. While preparing music for the Vienna Chapel Imperial, Vienna’s opera houses, and recordings. Additionally, he also coaches the boys for performances with world-class orchestras. Furthermore, it includes the Vienna Philharmonic, Vienna Symphony, and Los Angeles Philharmonic, working with renowned conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, and Simone Young.
