SBTown is bringing the KWAVE Music Festival to the Philippines, happening at the New Clark City Stadium on May 11, 2024. This sports and entertainment event is one that will go down in history.

What is KWAVE?

Pronounced as [kweɪv], the KWAVE Music Festival is a music event that creates space for the cultural exchange of Asian countries, especially South Korea and the Philippines.

The KWAVE Music Festival will be a music festival where artists from both countries share one spectacular stage. This event will showcase a variety of musical acts and feature F&B booths, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

KWAVE Music Festival in the Philippines Lineup

With the Badminton Asia Closing Ceremony KWAVE Music Festival, a fusion of K-pop and P-pop is about to happen!

The first lineup was revealed on March 8, 2024, with two K-pop acts and two P-pop groups. This includes THE BOYZ and fromis_9 from South Korea and the Philippines’ very own PLUSS and YGIG. With these K-pop and P-pop groups, an amazing fusion of music and culture is waiting to happen on one spectacular stage.

However, this is only the first roster of artists, and there will be a second wave of lineup reveal. More top-tier K-pop artists from South Korea will be added, as will, of course, the names of P-pop artists from the Philippines.

KWAVE Music Festival in the Philippines Ticket Details

As early as March 8, the ticket details for the event were revealed through a media conference. The ticket price ranges from PHP 2,000 to PHP 15,000.

  • PREMIUM FLOOR: PHP 10,000
  • PREMIUM CENTER: PHP 10,000
  • PREMIUM L and R: PHP 6,500

According to Tatang Robin, the event will be an all-seated show, urging fans not to come early as they will have designated seats. Queuing for hours is not needed, and there will be no soundcheck.

During the press conference, a special early bird promo was mentioned. A 20% off will be available on the ticketing day until March 17, while a 15% discount will be applied from March 18 until March 31. For the whole month of April, there will be a 10% discount, while the regular ticket prices will be applied from May 1 until concert day, depending on ticket availability.

Plans for the KWAVE Music Festival in the Philippines

The KWAVE Music Festival in the Philippines is made possible by Badminton Asia Closing Ceremony KWAVE Music Festival Organizer, Ms. Meeyon Kim (Karry) of SDG Marketing Korea, while Show Biz Town Inc. (SBTown), as led by Mr. Geong Seong Han, and Ms. Kathleen Dy-Go of Universal Records, serves as the production partner for the event.

kwave music festival philippinesWhen asked about the difference between the KWAVE Music Festival and other music festivals in the country, the organizers highlighted that they want the fans to comfortably enjoy the event. “Just go there and enjoy, have fun.”

As the imminent music event aims to be the union of K-pop and P-pop culture, Tatang Robin also hopes to prove that Filipino artists can stand on the same spectacular stage as South Korean global acts. “I wanted to show that P-pop and OPM artists are also worth your every penny.”

Additionally, Ms. Kim proudly responded that if this event succeeds, “K-pop artists will continue to come here,” giving more chances to collaborate with Filipino artists.

The organizers also shared their plans to offer transportation assistance to fans coming from different cities to and from the venue. They will also see to it that there will be food and beverage stalls during the event. Tatang Robin wittily advised fans to not wear high heels and to wear comfortable sneakers instead. He once again reminded them that it is a music festival where all they have to do is attend and enjoy.

Meanwhile, as the biggest sportainment event in the Philippines, the Badminton Asia Closing Ceremony KWAVE Music Festival aims to break cultural walls and become one through music. With the cultural exchange of the sports spirit and music experience of both South Korean and Philippine cultures, the music event hopes to be united with music.
