No need to sing missing you, Melody! Let’s make BtoB in PH 2024 a dream come true!

A lot of K-pop stars have been visiting the Philippines since concerts and fan meetings resumed after the pandemic. While fans of various artists have been joyous, the magical moment has yet to arrive for BtoB and their fans (also known as Melody).

In an effort for idols and fans to be together in 2024, BTOB Philippines has published a survey for a possible fan event. According to the fanbase, which has been around since 2012, a local promoter is interested in bringing BtoB to the country.

Hence, a post about the interest check form was shared on the fanbase’s multiple platforms on January 7. Interested fans can send their answers until January 31. Gaining a positive response from the survey will be the first step in reuniting PH Melody and BtoB.

About BtoB

BtoB, short for Born to Beat, is a South Korean boy group formed in 2012 under Cube Entertainment. The group currently consists of Seo Eunkwang, Lee Minhyuk, Lee Changsub, Lim Hyunsik, Peniel, and Yook Sungjae.

With 12 years of experience in the industry, BtoB has a wide variety of music in their portfolio. To begin, we have their debut track Insane, followed by similarly addictive Wow.” The group then showed they could do cute concepts with Second Confession.

Of course, we cannot talk about BtoB without mentioning their ballads. After all, it’s uncontestable that they’re one of the best ballad boy groups of their generation. Their emotional vocals, paired with melodic rapping, are the perfect blend to produce ballads that admirably go well with dance.

BtoB first gifted us with It’s Okay in 2015, which was followed by Way Back Home in the same year. In March 2016, the ballad trilogy was concluded with the release of Remember That.

To remind everyone of their versatility, the group subsequently released Pray (I’ll Be Your Man) and Movie as their next title tracks. In October 2017, BtoB’s popularity soared even higher through their song Missing You from their Brother Act album. The track, written by member Hyunsik, topped the charts and won the group multiple music show trophies.

Aside from their group activities, BtoB also boasts individual achievements. Minhyuk and Sungjae are actors; most members contribute to the making of their albums, and each of them has also released solo songs.

Minhyuk, in addition to his multiple acting credits for supporting characters, had lead roles in Nightmare Teacher and Goedam 2. On the other hand, the youngest Sungjae has Who Are You: School 2015, Goblin, and The Golden Spoon under his name, the two former dramas playing a big part in gaining new fans for him and BtoB.

Besides Missing You, Hyunsik also composed the gems from their discography, such as Someday, Only One For Me, and Beautiful Pain. The songs The Winter’s Tale, Movie, and Friend were also penned by former member Jung Ilhoon, proof that BtoB’s musicality has been incredible since their earlier years.

From April to September 2017, each BtoB member released digital solo songs: At the End (Changsub), Fancy Shoes (Ilhoon), That Girl (Peniel), Swimming (Hyunsik), Purple Rain (Minhyuk), Tell Me (Sungjae), and One Day (Eunkwang). The compilation album, Piece of BtoB, was released in 2019 to commemorate 7 songs from 7 members for their 7th year since debut.

During the members’ fulfillment of their mandatory military service from 2018 to 2021, BtoB continued activities through individual and sub-unit projects. They finally made their comeback as a full group on February 21, 2022, with the album Be Together. The lead track, The Song, paid homage to their earlier title songs by creatively inserting them into the lyrics. It was the perfect soundtrack for the group’s return and celebration of 10 years in the industry.

BtoB remains an active group to this day, even after the members parted ways with Cube Entertainment. They recently announced their comeback plans for March 2024.

Reasons to Add BtoB in PH 2024 to Your Bucket List

We’ve already established that BtoB is a well-rounded group of talented individuals. Here are more reasons why you should fill out that survey form while it’s not yet too late!

BtoB’s Vocals Are No Joke

They are recognized for their vocal skills for a reason! Listening to their music at the highest volume is already an amazing experience. One can only imagine how stellar it is to hear those notes being hit perfectly. Check out this live clip of Day & Night.

BtoB delivers WOW Factor

On top of being skilled performers, BtoB also knows how to bring fun to the stage. Their Movie stage on Show Music Core while cosplaying various characters from TV and film is genius. This allowed them to entertain themselves while entertaining their audiences.

Time to break the 7-Year Curse

If you’ve been a K-pop fan for a long time, you probably know of the seven-year curse. It may be the same for Filipino Melody. 2024 marks seven years since the canceled BtoB First Fanmeeting in Manila. The event was postponed from October 2016 to January 7, 2017. Unfortunately, the fanmeeting never pushed through. This year is our chance to break the curse and bring BtoB back to the Philippines for a solo show!

Tingi is great, but the whole package will just be AWESOME

While BtoB as a whole group hasn’t been in the Philippines in a long time, we cannot say the same about the members. In 2018, Sungjae held his solo fanmeeting, Paradise in Manila. Fans were also able to make Hyunsik’s Dear Melody in Manila happen in December 2019. Lastly, Minhyuk recently met Filipino Melody in July 2023 as one of the performers in the Be You 3: The World Will Smile joint concert. It’s fun to see that the boys can hold solo gigs, but being able to see them perform together is a wonder on its own that every fan should experience.

BtoB deserves to experience the PH Crowd

Filipino concert crowds mean energy and enthusiasm. We’ll know when to sing along and when to recite the fan chants. Concerts are not just for fans to meet their idols; it’s for their idols to meet the people who have been supporting them. Suffice it to say, BtoB deserves to experience the love that Filipino Melodys have for them. For all the comfort and healing that they brought to their fans, BtoB deserves to experience confusion when the audience chants “walang uuwi” repeatedly.

An article is not enough to sum up the reasons why BtoB in PH 2024 needs to happen. After all, we have our reasons. At the end of the day, it’s up to you to find out for yourself the charm that BtoB has. Don’t forget to answer the survey while you still have time!
