Everything is #BetterWithGyu as Filipino MOAs gather to celebrate the birthday of TXT’s Beomgyu.
Staying true to the phrase, ‘For Fans, By Fans’, a group of local MOAs (fandom name for TXT) hosted Better For Gyu, a celebration for the birthday of Tomorrow X Together member Beomgyu. Several MOAs spent an afternoon of wonder at Cafe Janggeum in Met Live on March 09, 2024.

Besides concerts and fan meetings, fan-hosted events have been prevalent in the K-pop community over the past years. What makes these meetings special is they provide an avenue for K-pop fans to meet fellow fans; for online friends to finally see each other in person; and for strangers to meet new friends.
Fan-hosted events provide a place for people to get together and bond over their mutual fondness and love for their favorite idols.

“Better For Gyu”, promoted by the organizers through the tag #BetterWithGyu, is a birthday cupsleeve event for TXT’s Beomgyu. The event is made possible by a group of Filipino MOAs in partnership with various artists and fansites.
By signing up for the event, #BetterWithGyu attendees were able to take home birthday kits, among other things. The kits include a cupsleeve, tote bag, photocard holder, bubble head fan, stickers, polaroids, AR postcards, bear brooch, event ticket, button pin, and player cards.
The jovial atmosphere of the event was made even better as the venue was decorated with all things Beomgyu! There’s a table setup filled with photos, polaroids, postcards, and dolls. On top of traditional balloons, slogans and sintra boards of fan-taken Beomgyu photos were all over the event area.
Attendees were able to take unlimited shots with the free photobooth. It’s made extra fun because the photo memorabilia has Beomgyu in the frame!
Of course, Filipino K-pop fans once again proved their generosity as #BetterWithGyu attendees had the chance to bring home prizes won through games and raffles. By answering trivia questions about Beomgyu, MOAs won customized pillows and official merch.
Multiple rounds of raffle also allowed other MOAs to bag albums, posters, customized blankets, the sintra board decors, and of course, the most coveted Beomgyu standee.
Overall, #BetterWithGyu was a delightful event for Filipino MOAs. Fans were able to meet their friends and make new ones. Furthermore, they were able to bond and talk about TXT’s recent 5th debut anniversary as well as the group’s upcoming comeback.

Choi Beom Gyu, commonly known as Beomgyu, is a South Korean idol born on March 13, 2001. He debuted on March 4, 2019 as a vocalist in the BigHit boy group Tomorrow X Together (TXT).
Aside from being the group’s visual, he has participated in TXT’s discography. Beomgyu’s writing, composing, and producing credits include “Maze in the Mirror”, “What If I Had Been That Puma”, “No Rules”, “Thursday’s Child Has Far To Go”, “Happy Fools” (feat. Coi Leray), and “Dreamer”. The singer has also contributed to the making of the fan songs, “MOA Diary (Dubaddu Wari Wari)” and “Blue Spring”.
Tomorrow X Together is making their comeback on April 1 with their mini album, minisode 3: Tomorrow.
